Why is Hopkins praised for his style and Hatton crucified?

Why does Bhop get praised for his hitting and holding style and Hatton gets crucified for it? If anything, at least with Hatton there is a pretty good chance that the fight will end by KO. I like both and consider Hopkins an ATG, but I cannot sit here and say that Hopkins is exciting and Hatton holds too much it just doesn't make sense. I never would have thought that this would be effective against Winky, does this mean that Hatton has a better chance against the welters than previously thought?

....Hopkins has ALWAYS been tough to watch fight....his fights vs Robert Allen were just HORRID.

He's a great boxer though.....Ricky is just an all out brawler, I like his style but hey what'cha' gonna do everyone can like the same thing

Hopkins vs Wright was a bit excessive, but Bernard has always thrown his shots, lunged in and put his forehead in your face. After that he holds and hits. That is his signature style. The only difference is he used to do it with more movement in between.

At this point in Bernards carrier I would much rather see Ricky fight than B-hop. Ricky may have some similarities but he is more exciting I think. I would like to see a B-hop Jones rematch . I dont know why.

I agree he is probably the best at adapting to his opponent's style, but I can guarantee whatever fight style he chooses there will be leading with the head and hitting and holding.

Naw against Tarver he was back most of it,lots of shoulder feints,didnt want to come in to Tarvers range,and he was constantly wapping Tarvers pawing jab so Tarver couldnt find his range
He'd decide all night,and then charge with his head up
