Default Is there any actual rule prohibiting a tourney in the US

Could we a see a Pride style LHW or Welter Weight Tourney in the US and would the UFC do it. I mean these two divisions are stacked and a 16 man tourney would be awesome.

i think they dropped it to play it safe, i dont THINK the sanctioning lead to the tournaments being illegal but i think it was just such a touchy situation at that time they dropped them to play it safe

The first UFC's all they did were tournaments and the odd superfight so don't see why not.

I'd love to see it too.
