I picked my fights on another thread and it came out as a draw, 3-3. However, for the sake of this poll I will choose the Philippines (as my bird's from there...)

I hate to be a grumpy old so-n-so, but how does this constitute a "world cup" of boxing? Wasn't it Mexico who were in the last one as well?

Mate, I think it's part of a bigger plan. Not 100% sure on that but thats the idea I got.

Also, in America the phrase "World Cup" means not America. Whereas "World Champions" means only America (See baseball, US football, basketball, etc). St Louis were proclaimed WORLD Baseball Champions just a few months after America failed to reach the last four of the World Baseball Championship. I'm still working that one out.

Well, I'm going to vote Mexico, but I'm still bitter there isn't some random african country that has fluked its way into the finals I can vote for. Next time, I reckon it'll be Togo for the win!

Win or lose, I gotta go with my pinoy countrymen. I know they're all virtually underdogs but P.I. fighters has been giving tough competitions with their opponents lately. But one thing for sure, they'll do much better than the Thai fighters did against Mexico (World Cup of Boxing I).

I hear you, superheavy....how is it a World Cup with only 2 countries? Hey, maybe if it gains popularity, more countries will be involved, maybe a yearly tournament with the brackets taking place a month or two apart. I kind of like the idea, it brings everyones national pride into play, same as the Olympics.

There is a part of me that will find the traincrash ties like USA v Finland as sort of compulsive viewing. You know Finland don't have a chance but they're brave going in there at all.
