It does not matter what weight the fights at. Floyd may think fighting Ricky at 147 gives him an edge, but Hatton is going to knock Mayweather out, No Doubt!

And that's the bottom line cus Stone Cold said so!

I am rooting for Hatton and I wish him luck.

Cotto vs PBF at 147 and then I will be excited.

Not to keen about Hatton/PBF at 147.

Hatto should have insisted it be at 140 since Hatton is the best at 140.

    Is there a rematch clause?
if he beats Hatton he beats the best at 140 end of story

Yes he is. Simply enough. If Floyd beats Hatton then he would have beaten the champions at 147, 154 and 140 all in a row. And there is no doubt that Floyd is the best welterweight in the world, and he is the undisputed champion to boot.

PBF is best at 147 yet he still fought De La Hoya at 154. He just weighed in less then the maximum limit. Hatton doesn't have to put on 7 extra pounds, he can weigh in at 142 and be just the same fighter as he is at 140. I doubt Floyd is going to weigh in at anything more then 145 anyways.

But I agree, Cotto vs Floyd is the matchup I want. But still, he's in there with a real pressure fighter. Not a skilled boxer who had to adjust to the role of a pressure fighter to make the fight close like De La Hoya did.

If Hatton comes to fight in top form, which I have every reason to believe he will, then PBF definitely has a fight on his hands. As much as I like Floyd, I really doubt this is going to be the 120 - 108 type fight a lot of people think it will be.

If he beats hatton which I think he should then it would add on to his credential but he'll have to beat cotto williams too.

And don't forget its not just winning a boxing match, its how you punish your oppenents thats what makes you great.

LETS FACE IT FLOYD DOES NOT HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A LEGENDARY GREAT LIKE ALI OR ROBINSON. FLOYD DOES NOT HAVE THAT WILL TO PUNISH OPPENENTS CONSISTENTLY. to him a s.d or u.d is enough, but really it is NOT!
If we are comparing fighters to Ali and Robinson then there are about 5 great fighters that ever lived. That's the truth of it. Floyd has been the best fighter in boxing for a long time now and he's never stopped short of challenging himself against quality opposition. From 129 to 154, you won't find a better resume then Floyd's in today's age. It's not about how you punish your opponents either, this is boxing, the sweet science, and there are scorecards for a reason.

To say he is the next Whitaker like it is some type of insult is probably one of the more stupid things I have ever read here. Most everybody has Whitaker up there with the top 20 greatest fighters of all time.

Why wouldn't Hatton be? I mean to be the best you have to beat the best right? Mayweather is the absolute best and as big of a Cotto fan I am, even if he sparks Mosley out in the first round, it won't be as big or meaningful to the rankings as Hatton beating the champion.

147 is fair Mayweather moves down Hatton moves up Hatton is best at 140 and win over Hatton will be big yes Mayweather still needs to fight winner of Cotto vs Mosley and Paul Williams but you need to give him a break he moved up to fight Oscar Mayweather is taking all big fights now he is very talented when your p4p number 1 you call the shots if Hatton wants a piece of Mayweather he has to move up simple as.
