Mundine's career in jeopardy?

He has an eye injury which is threatening his vision,after he cleaned his lense with his mouth in a resteraunt and put it back in. I hope this isn't true,I really like Mundine.

But why would you clean a contact lense with your mouth?

Use water or something, you're at a restaurant.

Personally I find him to be a very boring fighter to watch, and he has internet warrior fans but it's always a shame when things like this happen outside of the ring that could jeopardise the fighters future in the ring, and I hope he recovers.

I'm very surprised that Mundine wears lenses though, I'd have thought a fighter that requires lenses would need good vision in the ring, therefore he'd have had corrective laser surgery.

That is bad news. What on earth was he washing it in his mouth for though?!

Hopefully he will be back but that is just odd.

I find this story rather odd too but small things like this can happen,I just hope he can continue to fight.

That is true. Weird things do happen all the time, it can happen to boxers too. Given time im hopeful that he will be back.

It is a shame I hope he gets through ok. Although I heard it was an infection that he picked up after a procedure on his eye not cleaning a contact in his mouth. Either way it's a shame.

When he cleaned his contact lens with his mouth, that then caused an infection.

He will get through and fight again, it just may take a while. Hopefully someone of note will take him on.

What with Kessler v Calzaghe grabbing the headlines in the SMW division, I'm afraid that Mundine has little chance of getting either of those fighters in the ring. Maybe a bout against Berrio?
