Is the Hatton forum down ?

Saddo he had over 25 posts so he could\'ve pm\'d you about it to keep it off the mainboards to begin with. Judging by his word choice, he should\'ve been smart enough to consider that option. Fault goes to him IMO.

Most of his posts have a major condescending tone that just screams \"Looks at these big words i use, i\'m more important than you are\". Atleast when VD puts somebody down, he goes straight to the point instead of breaking out into some philosophy lesson or some S***.

I think it was Violent Demise\'s insulting of the Hatton forum that got him banned.

no i think the hatton forum is full of too many biast posters that is why you wont see me posting there as there is just no debate....so couldn't give a shit about that this also wasnt me taking sides... this is about him continually attacking new members after hundreds of warning from the mods and making this place look crap.

As far as I'm concerned there are plenty of heavy hitters here if you wanna properly mix it, there's no sport in laying into newbies...that's for the weak and insecure.

Looked to me like he was just talking about the forum and this guy has made some posts that are out there. Like under the boxers you dislike thread he says any boxer that has boxed in the last 20 years. I'm faily sure there's some very significant hall of famers in that time frame. Newer members give more of an amatureish, unprofessional look then most established posters do. Oh well its only for a week. Gotta move on I guess.

That Terry Nutkins guy has been a member since November of 2005, so he's far from a new member. Why is everybody crying about mistreating the new guy when he's been around longer than they have?

Just because he became a member a couple years ago and decided to never actually post anything, he shouldn't be entitled to any special treatment.

I was having a good laugh at the postings last night because Violent was completely out of line busting in the way he did but Terry more than handled himself. I continued laughing through Dasamm's view of the whole process (although I thought of it more like a three stooges episode with Terry playing the part of moe) .

I find cringe humor funny but I know I probably wouldn't feel the same if Violent had attacked me outright either. Rotten, say what you will, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who took it as an attack on Terry and not Hatton.

I'll admit It's easy to draw me in to a verbal battle just by calling me names but Violent, it seems to me, wouldn't be as affected by name calling. Terry's verbal assault was much more effective due to the fact that it even pissed Booze off enough to chime in. Battles will take place on forums no matter what we would all like to happen however I for one didn't appreciate the way Violent entered the conversation ( it's a terrible double standard I have due to the fact I laughed my ass off when I read his first post).

What concerns me most about this whole incident it the fallout after his one week ban. It says a lot about the people who are coming to his defense when he was IMO clearly wrong.

Terry came on asking a simple question about a forum. That is a fair enough question for anyone to ask regardless of the member being new or more long term. For an established poster just to respond with fuck this forum and fuck whatoever is just not cool. Sure we all have a mental flip sometimes but some people have a habit of doing such things again and again, and obviously it happened again.

Nutkins came back with some screwy banter involving vocabulary that seemed to go over a few heads! And that prompted further attacks on the said Nutkins. To be fair to Nutkins. He kept his head and responded with more of his, quite corny and actually quite funny responses.

Its not like any long term member here gets banned without being given enough chances. Even Royal gets the chance to reemerge before being flushed every now and than. We have a pretty tolerant site but at the same time have a pretty civil and clean site (on the main boards anyways).

Its not like VD has been banned for good. He will serve out his short sentence and will be back. VD can be a very good poster, he would be an even better poster if he could iron out a few chinks in the civility department.

VD has been pulled up via PM about attacking new memebrs by the mods a shitload of times and by me... he seems to ignore the warnings and carry on.

it looks S*** on the main board and makes this place look like all the other crap smacktalk boxing boads out there not to mention losing us new members who just think F*** this place i aint going back there and i wont have it simple as that... hopfully he will ease off when he returns if not hes gone.

If that\'s the case than I think Violent Demise\'s ban should be lifted immediately. But I doubt it will be. I get the feeling that if he was a huge Hatton fan he wouldn\'t of been banned.

All the stuff about being a new member is pure semantics anyway, as it serves nobodies purpose for the main board to be full of people slagging each other off.

If people wanna get personal bring it in here out of the public eye. It's that understanding that's allowed the most ardent of opposing fans to co-exist successfully here for as long as I can remember.

Newbies, on the other hand, don't understand that...and the ones that persist don't last very long (legend30 anyone?). As regulars we do and we owe it to the other members (and to Saddo for that matter) to keep the tone of the board the same chilled, friendly place it's always been.

VD does constantly push it. I understand he has an abrasive 'style' and that's just his manner...but it doesn't mean it should be accepted.

Ice Cold you remember when i first started here and we had a short debate about somethin and i got absolutley raped!? Well there was no hard feelings there n now i not afraid to say ur one my favourite posters. That dude made the first personal attack. VD said fuck the hatton forum (which from what i've heard is a well founded statement apparently) and then he continued with a joke that somebody else made that had nothing to do with that poster. As i've said before, he could've pm'd somebody to keep it off the main board and he's been here since '05. He's the one that got all arrogant and got other people involved in the thread. Oh well this week will pass and that guy will eventually get 100 posts.
