Saturday was a good step up in competition and hopefully he can keep it at this level until he progresses and maybe this time next year he'll be ready for one of those guys. I'd say Cintron first, then maybe Cotto. Williams and Floyd are both uniquely problematic, but I'd bet within 2 years Williams won't be able to compete at 147 anymore.Originally Posted by Althugz

I agree,Paul is too tall, making weight must kll him. I mean he runs something like 10 miles per day to make 147,there must be a limit as to how often someone can do that!!!Originally Posted by liquid
He's just so gaunt. I can easily see him at Super Middle or Middle some day.
Oops
Yea but if he moved up he wont be as dominate against people like Pavlik and Kessler might even get knocked out i think whats saves him his hieght and reach he has no power but does have good puchout but as for berto yet again i pick him over Cintron and margriot give him some more fights and he will be there
hey do you know if the fight with Berto and Quintana is finale and if so is their a date to when the fight is going to happen
He needs more preparation because if he goes in too soon it will all be a blur in his memory. Can't rush him.
Exactly my point give him couple more fights and he will be ready just wait and see
This i kinda why I made this topic..because the division is so deep I just remember the commentator saying he was nearly ready for a world title. I thought 'Damm, but he's in the welterweight division!? Who could he possibly have a chance against??'
I think if he was in one of the weaker divisions..maybe one up or one down he would probably be ready now for a title shot. Right now, like what is being said, I think he needs to face a fringe contender. Talking of gate-keepers what about Judah? That could be an interesting fight.
Judah sounds really interesting.
If he beats Zab then i think berto should either go with Quinta or go for Cintron
Judah would dominate early. If Berto was able to put some of that power on him he could win the latter rounds and perhaps get a ko. I'd like to see that match-up.
Oops
Judah would be a tough tough bout for him, but i wouldnt be surprised.Originally Posted by johnsebastianmiran

Yeah, no way he's ready for a title shot yet. I'd say put Berto in there with Joshua Clottey or Collazo first. Then if he wins one of those fights, get him a title shot against Cintron. I don't think Berto can beat Clottey though, and I don't know if he could beat Collazo either. Incidently anyone ever see Berto's brother fight on Shotime Elite XC(MMA) he's pretty damn good in his sport too. He won his first two matches, tapping out Joe Boxer Valenzula, but just lost his last fight to KJ noons by knockout. He took a bad ass whippin in that one.Originally Posted by taansend

Well this fight was the WBC / IBF title eliminator which means
Floyd / Hatton winner (WBC)
or Kermit Cintron (IBF)
I wouldn't personally put him in with any of the champs yet.
If he wants to go with the WBC title, I would first put him in with Collazo.
If he wants to go with the IBF title, I would put him in with Margarito.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
