He can be dirty at times Froch and i remember when he dropped Magee heavily in the 11th then dragged his foot across his throat (forcing his head up at a nasty angle) while he lay in a heap underneath him.
    NO NEED CARL
That final KO shook Reids bones bigtime.

I thought Reid had absolutely nothing left from the first bell. He was completely shot. It was a total joke of a fight.

I wasnt impressed. Froch barely scrapes the SMW top 6 IMO.

The way he steps things up he might challenge for a world belt just before retiring.

The fight was fun, but nothing to write home about.

Froch looked decent but then he was facing a Reid who hasnt looked world class for a long time now. I was thinking perhaps Reid had enough to take it to the distance..but no. Reid is done.

Froch is really dirty and has serious issues with his defence. I dont put him inside the top 6. It will probably be another 6 months before Im allowed to revise any opinions I might have.

i think i might agree with you about froch.i was so impressed with him as an amateur,i though he could go a REALLY long way,but he hasnt really carried that promise over into the pros in my opinion. He has almost talked and promoted his way into a title shot.Im not saying he isnt good but just that he isnt anywhere near as good as people seem to think.however i would pay a lot of money to see froch vs lacy from a purely entertainment point of view!!

Well when the fight finished i just said what a load of shit that was....

i was well excited for this fight and it let me down on all levels.

there was one thing that impressed me in the whole fight and that was Froch's chin.... that haymaker Reid caught him with right on the button would have ko'd alot of boxers.

and for a split secont it shook Froch's boots... but he shook off the effect instantly.

if you get the chance to watch that bit again you'll see what i mean, AMAZING powers of recovery from Froch

sad to see Reid go out like that but hes done at top level and it was cool for Froch to admit as much in the after fight interview

Ive been warming to Froch of late but thought he looked crap.

Maybe the ring rust and knee injury had something to do with it BUT if Reid (who played his part as the "shot" fighter giving it one last go to perfection) was a only a few years younger it would/could of turned out very different.

I'm back to thinking Froch will get mullered when he faces someone with class and AMBITION.

AT Reid giving him lessons/pointers afterwards, summed it up.

Reid probably just didnt want to get his face rearranged. Then hed be out of two careers. This was obviously a payday.

I was at the fight and was dissappointed Reid didnt show more, he felt Frochs power and new he was in for a hiding. Good workout for Carl seeing as hes just had major knee surgery. Froch can go all the way IMO but he needs to forget calzaghe. calzaghes only interested in his pension now and iv never considered kessler that good any way. Dont Blame calz for wanting dollars to fight popkins. Froch has the ability to take out Calzaghe and as shown with Kessler joe can be open to uppercuts. Im not sure Joes takes many uppercuts from Froch

Ok, smash, if im totaly honest I knew it was a big ask for this version of Robin to do a number on anyone

His fight against Magee, his power wan him the fight although it was still impressive he could land that right as much as he did against the awkward and negative Magee, then against serdjane he moaned like mad to the ref when it was only a 6 rounder, then the Lacy fight

I thought the Brinkley fight held out some hope for him because he didnt whine to the ref and was getting as much rough treatment as he was giving out.

I watched Reid since he beat the title from Nardiello and was won over by his personality, a quick wit and didnt take any stick, he could also take a good shot and come firing back but he never made the most out of his career, he seemed to lose interest the minute he wan the title in italy, just turning up and going throught the motions, I remember watching him against Branco and being frustrated with his performance.

He never seemed the type to want a legacy more a big bank acount but he did have the right tools and on his day could have given anyone a good scrap as he proved against Calzaghe.

I was typing all I was in the hope that maybe he read through some forums and noticed them, he might have got disheartened with all the negative ones and I was hoping to remind him of his pros versus Frochs cons, I know that sounds pathetic

At the end of the fight I still have the same opinion on Froch as I did before, he is easy to outmanouvre, out jab and catch with the right, especially that right Reid threw. He did hurt Froch but ducked straight down to avoid a counter where Froch held him, if it had been a younger Reid there would have been a follow up or 2 and I have no doubts after seeing Froch stunned on the ropes that he wouldnt have had the wherewhithall to deal with it and end up on his arse.

This fight has shown nothing different in Froch and if he does fight Kessler I cant see him lasting to the final bell, that guard would be pierced all night

Apart from the knockdown Reid wan those last 2 rounds until Hughes pulled him out

If a 37 year old retired Reid can outbox Froch the hotshot.......
