    Happy thanksgiving American Saddos...
And thanks for sharing the family stories...
I'm lucky that my Dad is a stroing presence in the family so nobody starts any trouble around him because he doesn't appreciate violence let alone violence within the family...
But once i nearly became involved in a bit of trouble myself...at a funeral!!!

My grandmother had just died and i was pretty cut up...I couldn't talk to anybody because i had to look after everybody else and it was stressing me out. I don't no if anyone here is familiar with Irish weddings but their a big community thing. My gran was like a second mother to me because when my Mamwas sick and i was just a kid....and like i said after an Irish funeral like 300 hundred people come back to the family home afterward for Drinks. So everyone there is drinking except me and my brothers n sisters. The house was the only place i could escape before the burial and now afterward it was full of people! I tried my best to make sure everybody was being taken care of and that all was Ok. And then it started to bug me. There was a local couple a wife and her husband who were treating this as a social event and laughing it up

That alone darkened my mood, but then the husband calls me over. Rudely pronouncing to the group directly surrounding him, this is the boxer fella...I'll tell ya if you were workin for me for a day we'd see how tough you were! I actually responded ok, and i said "we would and you'd be put to shame!" But then the wife chimed in, "where were you when your gran Died?" Above in Limerick was it?, could you not have stayed home and helped the family...

I was in Limerick at the time at college, but i just snapped and said if she was a good neighbour maybe she should have helped. The husband advanced on me as he was drunk and full to the gills with poitin. He hit first but i countered and as i drew my arm back Dad caught me by the arm and asked the man to leave. I had no excuse as i don't drink and i was meant to be a host and it's a long time since i spoke to that neighbour...
    Still stings thinking about it.

    Happy Thanksgiving Daxx.
We're getting together at an uncles house more then likely a fight will break out between my dad's cousins.
It always ends in a fight.
I know you guys prob think I am making these stories up, and trust me, I wish I were, but here goes...

When I just a wee little baby still young enough to be in a bassinet, my mother took me to my grandmothers for my first thanksgiving. Well, my uncle Paul was around back alone listening to Hank Williams and getting drunk.

When it was time to eat my grandmother sent around an aunt to tell Paul. The fam waited, waited and waited, but still no Paul. Aother person was sent this time (A different person than the first time because everyone was scared of my uncle Paul) but to no avail. Finally my grandmother just told everyone to go ahead and eat.

About the time folks were had their first plate just about cleared here come my uncle drunk as drunk can be. He sees that everyone has started without him and he IS FURIOUS! Cursing the entire famliy including his mom and dad he grabs the turkey off the platter and drops kicks it through the dining room. The turkey hits against the living room wall and splatters everwhere and over everything, including me alseep in my basinet near where it hit the wall.

"If I can't have any no one can!" He yelled and stormed out the door.

    My mother cried.
i dont mean to laugh at your mom cryin, but we might be related due to a similar story with an uncle of mine
I just let out one of those laughs where your trying to hold it back, and it squeeks out. Got some people here at the offices lookin like i already started on the eggnog...
lmfao.. Turkey punting, an exiting sport it is lmao...

In Australia we celebrate the English Queens birthday with a day off for everyone hahaha.

Do the English have a day off for the old crone too

We also take a whole day off for a horse race!

Well, we are down here ,spinning around, hanging upside down off the bottom of this planet with all this beer ,all this sunshine, beaches and bikini clad wenches, someone has to do it.

    who says crime doesnt pay?
