Paul said he is only interested in unifying. Doesn't Cintron have one of those little trinkets?

The fact that Cintron didnt get Jesse out early doesnt bode well for him, I thought he would be too much technically to even let Feliciano hit him but apparently he wasn't.
Well said mate, that's exactly how I feel about Cintron....he's got time ahead in his career, so no need to take risks with dodgy hands. As for crock of sh*t....I'm not even sure what type of pot a crockpot is.

    Tick-tock-tick

It seems to be a sort of cooking pot with a vented lid for baking savoury food. Maybe there was some incident where the man of a historical house used a crock to go on one freezing evening when he didn't want to go out to the toilet at the bottom of the garden. This was subsequently baked and served....thus....a crock of sh*t.
You know...I'm not a massive Cintron fan...but he does take a lot of criticism on this forum.

Honestly...if he weren't injured in his last fight...he sure as S*** knew how to sell it.

As far as not being able to TKO Feliciano...every dog has his day. Knockout or not...Cintron won...Cintron has knocked out plenty of other fellars out there...so I'd be apt to cut him a bit of slack.

If he's the slightest bit injured...& I believe that he was...then it would be better to sit it out.

Williams aint no joke...& I'd probably pick him over Cintron anyways...whether Margarito said that he wasn't prepared or whatever excuse he came up with...he still lost...& quite convincingly. That is what wouldn't bode well for Cintron, IWHO.
I actually think some people are selling Feliciano short as well. He fought an exceptional fight and would have given virtually any fighter in the division a nightmare that night, except maybe a guy like Floyd or Mosely who could just outbox and nullify him.

The kid has improved a lot in the last year or so. He got a close win over Vince Phillips, KO'd Delvin Rodriguez in a brilliant come from behind victory and I thought he actually did enough to beat Alfonso Gomez in their third fight as well, certainly he was in complete control over the final couple rounds.

Every fighter has a bad night, Floyd got all bloodied by Emmanual Augustus, Hatton got busted up by John Thaxton and had a gruelling night with Eamonn Magee. Carl Froch had a nightmare with Matthew Barney, Calzaghe looked shat against Sakio Bika etc.

Feliciano in my eyes has proved himself as a top 20 maybe top 15 welter, which in such a strong division is no mean feat.

I have no problem with Williams facing Cintron. He was trying to unify the titles. Nothing wrong with that. Not only that but Margarito has sets his sights on a fight with Miguel Cotto. That's his primary choice. He's not really looking at Williams right now. I don't even remember Margarito even asking for a rematch. All I remember from him was whining that he got robbed

Williams Bout is Off, Injury Sidelines Cintron

Editor's Note: Cintron had a tentative unification bout with WBO champion Paul Williams scheduled for Feb. 2. Williams will now have to find another opponent for the HBO televised card.

TOTOWA, NJ – IBF Welterweight Champion Kermit Cintron suffered severe ligament damage to his right hand in his successful Nov 23 title defense against Jesse Feliciano, it was announced today by Main Events CEO Kathy Duva. Reading, PA orthopedic surgeon Dr. R. Scott Cook has advised Kermit that he should not engage in any boxing matches until March 1.

Cintron (29-1, 27 KO’s) injured his right hand in the first round of his Nov 23 bout against Feliciano. Despite the intense pain—which Cintron made evident when he dropped to the canvas following the bout—the champion battled on for 10 rounds before stopping the granite-chinned Feliciano with a two-fisted barrage at the 1:53 mark of round 10.

“I’m disappointed that I injured my hand, but I’m going to do whatever the doctor says because I’m eager to get back into the ring and unify the welterweight title,” said Cintron.

“Kermit will take the time necessary to heal his hand,” said Duva. “We will not run the risk of him entering the ring and injuring his hand further.”
    Well that sucks!

Cintron (29-1, 27 KOs) found out Thursday that the pain in his aching right hand that he injured during the first round of his tough 10th-round TKO of Feliciano was caused by severe ligament damage. Dr. R. Scott Cook, an orthopedic surgeon in Cintron's hometown of Reading, Pa., advised Cintron not to fight until at least March 1, promoter Main Events announced Thursday.

Cintron is the IBF champ, I gotta give Kermit the benefit of the doubt. I haven't seen him ever act like this before
Even though I think Williams will UD him I can't imagine Kermit having any reason to be afraid.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Just like Cotto_is_4_real said...he went to a doctor and was given the all clear. No injury at all

Wasn't it Cintron and his team that were making all the noise about getting a fight with Williams? Would seem odd to try to get a fight and then duck it by faking an injury.

I posted Cintron and his team making noise about PW,I tell it how I see it.Paul Williams team has signed the contracts,Kermit's haven't. People talk about Feliciano being tough etc etc and he was....for that fight. This is the same Feliciano that was stopped in 1 round by "Mighty" Mike Arnatouis.Stopped by D Hop. Dropped 3 times and stopped by Mohammed Abdullaev. So although Jesse looked awesome and tough in that fight,he' hasn't shown that toughness before.

Kermit over reacted with the hand. Hurt or not,you show me any other fighter falling like that and rolling around after the fight only to realise the hand was not even broken. I don't like PW muc for beating Tony but I honestly don't seen anyone at WW beating him. I gave Cintron a chance because of his power and I thought he had improved,I was wrong. He'll crack again.

Yeah I was still hesitant about Cintron's mental toughness.

I didn't even see the fight, still haven't seen the whole thing but I just saw the ending and the hand thing and I have to say its about the strangest thing I've ever seen
