Mayorga shock the world once again?

When did he shock it last time, and winning the world title of some 2nd rate opponent doesnt count.

If Oscar cant hurt people why is he a 6 weight world champion.

Even if he doesnt knock him out , he will box his earoles into his head, which I imagine does hurt

I'm not saying Mayorga will win but to say he didn't shock the boxing world when he beat Forrest is crazy. He was practically unknown, and Forrest had just clearly beaten Mosley twice, who some people had number 1 P4P. Forrest was P4P top 5 or 6. It was a shock.

Yep. CC oumafan. Forrest was top 5 P4P at that time. Mayorga came outta no where and not only beat Forrest, but DESTROYED HIM. It was awesome.

    Whats he done since, nothing....

    Nor will he

I cant see him beating Vargas if they ever fought.....

I cant wait till Sunday when I can come here and stand proud knowing that ODLH took the strap from Mayorga!

What's he done since? Well he beat Forrest a second time, then got screwed over against Spinks royally, then had a fight at 154 against Eric Mitchell followed by a war/ass kicking with Tito, then won a world title at 154 which he will defend come next week. And he fukin killl Vargas.

I'm really really looking forward to this one. You don't get a bad fight with Mayorga who without a doubt is one of the most entertaining fighters around, even if for all the wrong reasons.

Personally I'm kind of rooting for him. I like De La Hoya and if he does a number on him like he did Vargas then I'll be cheering him all the way but I think it's a bit regal of him coming back and trying to get another title.

I personally have really enjoyed the way Mayorga has got to him prefight. DLH tries to project this image of pure class and dignity with his golden boy image and his music career. When Mayorga calls him a fag and a queer and says he's going to make him piss his pants I think whether you hate him or not you have to be kind of amused.

    He's the ultimate pantomime villian!

I reckon this is going to be a great fight. If Mayorga has succeeded in getting DLH mad enough to trade with him, and DLH knocks him out I will be roaring him on.

But if DLH goes on his bike like he did against Tito and tries to outbox Mayorga I will be roaring Mayorga to knock his golden ass out.

    Anyone else feel like this?

Oscar disposed of Vargas at 156 and there have only been 2 other fighters who have floored him (Mosley and Tito). And if you ask me those are some Power punchers the cream of the crop. Oscar has plenty of power at 156 to ko Mayorga. What is gonna happen is that Mayorga will get all wild and Oscar will catch him flush with straight rights or lefts.

If Tito outboxed Mayorga, DelaHoya will give him a beating. And im not so sure that Tito has much more power than DLH at all despite his reputation. When they fought each other they seemed matched for power to me.

Did Forrest become second rate to you before or after Mayorga knocked him out?

I am picking Mayorga to win simply becasue in this particular fight with Mayorga he is traning to Brawl with DLH. Unlike those 2 losses he suffered to Spinks and Trinidad. First with the Spinks fight they were traning him to be more of a boxer and not a brawler and it was pretty obvious that it didn't work well.

Look at the Vernon forrest fight for example, after he handed Shane Mosley 2 losses back to back. Forrest went in against someone who he was expected to beat and got his butt kicked back to back losses he suffered at the hands of Mayorga. This was all Mayorga when he was doing what he does best Brawling.

In the Trinidad fight, he was just too small for middleweight, he only put on weight to fight trinidad and was already fatigued by the end of the 2nd round....and that is a shame because Trinidad landed almost 66% of his total power shots. Look how long it took trinidad to finish Mayorga. There is no way in Hell De La Hoya would have ever been able to take that kind of punches from Trinidad.

Mayorga is at the perfect weight, 154lbs and he is training like a animal. He will be more than ready to take on DLH. De La hoya is going to have alot of problems fighting Mayorga because he is just way too wild.

Vernon Forrest at his best couldn't figure it out. He was running from Mayorga all night~~

Mayorga is training to Brawl, he already knows that De La hoya is a better boxer and has better footwork, so he's not even going to fool himself like Gatti did when he fought Mayweather and try to outbox or box with him, he is gonna Brawl with DLH...DLH has never been in the ring with someone like Mayorga.... and it will be interesting what happens when DLH gets hit by Mayorga. We all know that Mayorga can take DLH punching power, but the question remains is that can DLH take Mayorga's??

Mayora at his best can brawl 12 rounds non-stop. Then smoke his cigarette at the end. That's the stlye that made him the WBA and WBC welterweight and Super Welterweight champion over night. He's making millions and has little boxing skill, but that Mayorga has some personality, chrisma and heavy hands. Alot of people are starting to watch him more because of his style and the way he treats all his oppenents. I Honestly belive he has what it takes to be a PPV star. Don king must love this guy!!!

are you kidding me? DLH has been in the ring with MUCH better opponents than Mayorga, you seriously lack any boxing knowledge if you think otherwise. he beat Trinidad, and Vargas, who each hit just as hard as Mayorga and have far superior skills. Hopkins and Sturm, probably hit just as hard as Mayorga. Also, I hate it when people talk about how the brawler won't make the mistake of trying to box ala Gatti Mayweather: because the fact is this is BOXING, and almost always the better boxer will win and strategy comes second. Of Course DLH can take Mayorgas power if he even needs to, he has a great chin. I also love how you say "there is no way DLH would have been able to take that kind of punchers from Trinidad".. How about the fact that DLH didn't get HIT with that kind of punches from trinidad.. And if Trinidad couldn't hit him flush how the fuck is Mayorga going to.. .
