    Calzaghe rips Hopkins!
Unified super middleweight king Joe Calzaghe has lashed out at Bernard Hopkins after Hopkins' trainer Nazim Richardson suggested that "The Executioner" should fight the Roy Jones Jr-Felix Trinidad winner rather than Calzaghe. "I'd have more respect for him [Hopkins] if he just came out and said 'Joe, look, if I fight you I'm going to get my a-- seriously beat. I accept that you are the best so why don't you just let me be and allow me to fight the winner of these old guys so I can just have an easy pay day' but instead, he's got his trainer to basically say 'Thanks, but no thanks, Bernard doesn't need to tangle with a dangerous young guy like you'....if he is the legend that he says he is then fight me, or otherwise be known as 'the guy who twice chickened out of fighting Joe Calzaghe.'"

And now Joe Calzaghe(talking in the third person now) doesn't want to fight Hopkins?
Nope, he said he wants the Hopkins camp to make a serious offer.

I liked Joe Bugner for god's sake
And I am praying Hatton dumps Mayweather on his bum, even if I dont think itll happen, but gods it would be sweet to have Mayweathers mouth finally shut
Admitably I hated Naz,but not because of his nationality,he'd torture guys out there, just to show that he could,it was strictly sadism on his part, and arrogance
Its par for the course for Joe/Warren to float these things out there
I dont even dislike Joe as a fighter,he maintains a good work rate,I do dislike the career choices he's made, and the way Warren's handled him
This would be par for their course, they did alot of the same stuff to try and call Jones out.Until Joe realises he isnt the name he thinks he is,and will have to travel outside of his backyard.
He'll only have two solid wins on his resume, and noone will care about them outside of the British Isles.
Bugner would fight anyone,at any time, just give him a chance.Same with Hatton
    Joe,lets face it,no
Until he does, the defining moment of his career will be beating Mikkel when he had a busted hand
You think we're busting on Joe,but in all honesty,he frustating to us,I want him to get the hell off the Isles and prove it.
Get on the damned plane, everyone else has to
nah not really from me mate, ive never judged this as a USA against a UK fighter... i've been joes biggest critic and rightly so at time during his career but he seems to have got his act together theses days barring the contender challange

so for me its just credit where its due for now.

still see this fight happening though.... to much back and forward for it not to IMO

Whilst it's difficult to say anything concrete without figures,I'm surprised by JC's decision. B Hop is notoriously hard to negotiate with so this fight does not look like it's happening. IF JC was getting more than for a Woods fight,he should have taken it;.

Joe seems to be dismissing a fight with Woods as well

    Cheers Saddo
The reason I dont see it happening,is Kessler needed this fight every bit as bad as Joe did
    B-hop doesnt
And I dont see him bending over the way Kessler's camp did
And Frank's feeling his stones now after the way he got to treat Kessler's camp
Garunteed Warren finds a way to blow this thing,he almost blew the Kessler fight, and Bernard doesnt have Mikkel's patience,or need

sorry bro, the Western Mail, whose website this is from, is not a tabloid newspaper in the traditional sense. Although it has recently adopted the format, it still provides regional politics and news coverage in a very different way to the tabloid national red-tops. Surely to be tabloid crap, it would need to be drawn from a tabloid?

Why would Calzaghe travel to Hopkins backyard (that means America, MONKEY ) for LESS money than he made for the Kessler fight?

So let's get this right, the BIGGER standing you attain in world boxing means the LESSER your value becomes?

Do you think he should fight for our entertainment?

    Boxing is about money.

The bigger the fight the more money you make.

Why do you think old BHOP wanted to bash-up little Oscar so bad?

Ive never bashed Hopkins for bottling a career high payday against Calzaghe, to fight a bunch of nobodies for peanuts, before landing the lottery against little Oscar.
