Castillo is Mayweather's best opponent in the 135-140 range and Hatton's beat him far more impressivley.

Collazo would beat any fighter Floyd has fought at 147.



It's irrelevant that Hatton has needed more fights to get to the top. That was just Frank Warren's plan. It obviously worked because he is finally going in with Mayweather and i cant' wait.

This comment annoys me a little. There was no evidence before this fight that Castillo was shot. Hatton manhandled him and KO'ed him. he did what no other had previously done. The comment you make, which I acknowledge has been made by others puts down a legitimate achievement.

Right he beat Kostya for top spot at lightwelter but lets not forget Kostya was 35 had only fought once in 23 month leading upto the fight but it was a great result for Hatton.Then he fought Maussa a man who was lucky to have a world title Hatton won but since fighting Hatton Maussa has lost twice in as many fights his last by Ko in round 1.Then came Collazo for the WBA welterweight championship to make Hatton a 2 weight champ Hatton won but struggled down the stretch many thought Collazo won the fight.Then came Urango a tough but unproven fighter for Hattons old IBF lightwelter title Hatton won but started running out of gas and ideas down the stretch again.Castillo was next up but in my opinion and many other peoples Castillo was on the downward slope infact very near the bottom Hatton produced a great win on paper KO4.Right the question is Hatton did'nt fight for a genuine title or a top flight fighter till fight 39 when he beat Kostya in his last 4 fights he has fought 3 world champs but not top flight then Castillo is Hatton really ready for Mayweather and can he really win??

Some valid points. Would you care to comment on Mayweathers recent opponents i.e: Over the hill Shamba Mitchell, the ploding Baldimore, Zab Judah who lost his last fight, blowing out of his a*** by round 7 Delahoya, laughably over the hill Auturo gatti.. Oh well I suppose he did beat those all time greats Henry Brussels, DeMarcus Corely and Phillip N'Duo!

The bottom line is, Hatton has never faced anybody like Mayweather and Mayweather has never faced anybody like Hatton. Theat's why we call it a MEGA FIGHT

Oscar De La Hoya was still a good fighter and Mayweather moved up to a weightclass he has never fought at before, i think you should give Mayweather more credit considering alot of people on this forum saw it 50-50 fight.

Corley and Gatti were good names at that time Corley was former WBO World champion and only lost his title to Judah by close SD prior to Mayweather fight.

And Gatti was on a nice winning streak beating guys like, Jesse James Leija, 22-0 Leonard Dorin, 32-0 Gianluca Branco, plus two victories over Ward.

Mayweather has never faced anybody like Hatton. Theat's why we call it a MEGA FIGHT

Castillo had never been KO or been knocked down in his entire career going into Hatton fight he may not have been at his peak but Hatton still deserves more credit than he is getting.

back i just remember everyone on this forum saying it was 50-50 fight no way is Castillo getting dropped it will for certain go the distance etc. Even i thought it would go the full distance, Hatton stopped Castillo in the most impressive way he could of and i just feel some people are being unfair on Hatton.

Sugar Ray Leonard hadnt boxed for three years before he beat hagler. Some lay off.

yes massau was stopped in the first, but he had gone the distance the fight before and the opponent who stopped him is no bum. remember hatton gave him a constant beating.


Against Collazo, Hatton put on extra weight by eating junk food to bulk up. Something he wont be doing this time and he took the bout on a few weeks notice.

Against Urango he totally outboxed an unbeaten opponent losing only one round.

And as for Castillio hatton did what no other boxer has done to him, he knocked him down and stopped him.

tyszu hasnt boxed since. look at him after the Hatton bout and you dont need to ask why.

The fact is neither of these fighters have "REALLY" been tested with skills that match there own
