#1 The fight is not confirmed. Soto is a great SuFwt, and I can't see him giving up after a loss to Guzman. Joan is probably the only man that can beat him at 130.

#2 David Diaz has an obligation to fight the Interim Champ (whoever that is) in 2008. He may also have a unification with Juan Diaz, so why would he fight a 130lb'er on the come up?

#3 Joan Guzman wants to unify at 130 before moving up, so that is why he won't come knocking at Ltwt (yet).

Sounds logical ......... how about from a money standpoint ?

Unless it is being picked up by HBO, neither one of these guys will get a big check to fight each other. Diaz gets big $$ to fight Diaz for the unification, but he doesn't get the big bucks without the belt.

Soto is still waiting for a big money fight. He was supposed to fight Manny after he spanked older brother Boddy Pacq, but instead DLH/Top Rank pushed him off to Guzman. They did this b/c they don't want their big guys fighting either one of them. Exactly what happened with Pavlik v. Miranda, but then JT couldn't hide anymore. I like and respect Soto, but he will always have a hard time getting big names to fight him. He is like Margarito in that sense.
