Spam from Saddo?

I've been a member for some time now and I thoroughly enjoy the topics and posts in this community. One thing however, threw me for a loop and that was when I received a typical Nigerian Scam email..What shocked me was when the user stated they got my email from www.saddoboxing.com as stated in the pasted copy of the email below:

My question is, is Saddo aware of this happening where there users email addresses are being accessed by Nigerian Spammers?

I've never received anything like that nor have a got anything to my aim which I have showing when you click member details

I received one quite awhile back and I believe Bilbo did too. I'm not entirely sure it was from Saddo's or the Hatton forum.

I'm pretty certain that this email didn't come from Saddo's at all, but from some dude who probably went through the members list looking for those with visible email addresses.

I just checked the list sanchez, and yours is listed as visible to the public. For example, if you look yourself up on the members list, you'll see a little envelope next to your name.

In order to switch this off, go to your profile and account related settings (or summat like that) and there'll be an opption to hide email address from the public. And bingo, you can no longer see your email address.

nah mate its not from me... i get spam from me everyday

what they do is have really sofisticated programs that hit google for a search term than spider all the sites that come up with that search term collecting emails.

and this one might have even kept which site they found the email and automatically added it to there email which they send out in the millions.

some of these spammers are getting really clever once i was reading an article about a boxer then a had my email program on and in one of the subjets lines was the boxers name i had in my browser.

still not sure how they got your email as i have your email blocked from the spiders in your profile and on the members list so i can only imagine you have posted your email somewhere on this board or online for tham to have spidered it

If your e-mail is on your profile then anyone can get it....Many spammers get them that way....

Dear Mr. Kahn,

I have made a HUGE error and accidently made a check out in my USA bank account for th sum of $10,000 and it should have been for $100. I am not in the country but could use your assistance, if you would be willing to cash the check for me and send the money via Western Union and keep $500 for your troubles I would greatly appreciate it. Please send me you address along with personal information so I can have the check forwarded to you asap.

I called authorties once but they said since his e-mail is a general on (yahoo or Google) it is impossible to trace
