Tellboy 66, Dont want to kidknap this thread but why Downesy hasnt been honoured is beyond me. His charity work alone, I think it was one year he collected money through his charity for 26 Sunshine coaches for the Handicapped. I know first hand when he charged for an appearance it went to the Sunshine Charity. Any amatuer show he went to he always put a £100 in the kitty a great benifactor for Boxing. Even if his language was Purple at times Loved the Guy.
Pain lasts a only a minute, but the memory will last forever....

Your spot on there mate He allways gave value in the ring & was a straight up guy out of it . I used to drink in a club he owned in Harlesden back in the sixtys he mixed in with punters ready to share a joke or two
