Default Paul Williams wants Shane Mosley after Quintana.

Just read this. I have to credit Williams,he seems to be willing to fight ANYONE and wants to unify rather than pick and choose his match ups-great to see from a young fighter especially in this age where most either want to protect their 0 or make business deals and business moves.

I like Williams warrior like attitude and I can say,I honestly think he would be a stylistic nightmare for Mosley. HUGE WW,looooong reach, excellent jab, southpaw and oh,he throws 100 punches a round. I'm not a fan of his style( ok,ok,I'm a closet fan ) but I think PW wins on points,I mean WIDE points decision,if it were to happen and who knows,SSM has NOT retired as of yet,so this fight could happen. I just don't see how Shane could win.Get inside and Williams will either hold him off or outwork him. On the outside,Williams is beating him all day long with the work rate and reach.

I've said it before and I'll say it again,Williams is a horrible fighter to face. He's not going to hand out any career ending beatings to anyone but on a 10 point must system, where judges usually score activity more than landed punches,I really don't see anyone at 147 beating him becaus eunless you Ko him,he's going to be throwing those dam punches and impressing the judges.

This really don't shock me that much.

Beating Mosley establishes a shit load of credibility & as for calling him out after a loss to Cotto...not that big of an issue & not that bad as another step on the trail to Cotto.

All he has to do is defeat Mosley & Quintana by TKO & in stronger fashion & he's built a bigger case for being a legit contender to the throne Cotto's trying to establish.

He probably just wants to fight a big name that he thinks he can beat immpressively. I think its a move that he thinks will make him a bigger name and more money down the line. Its kind of a weak move cause he is the WBO champion imo, but it makes some sence. He should be focusing 100% on Quintana though right now cause hes a very live underdog.

No way man. Look at it like this:

PW asked Zab,Cotto,Cintron and a whole host of other fighters for a fight and the only one to respond was Quintana. Also, the Shane Cotto fight was close. It's not as if Shane is a part time fighter or shot,he still has skills. Finally, how many times have we seen more established fighters fight someone coming off a loss? Mayweather fought Judah coming off a loss.Pacquiao fought Morales off a loss. Shane lost to a P4P fighter :Cotto. No harm in that, not as if he was blown away.

i suppose a mosley fight is a good win on his record if he wins but who really wants to see that fight ?? i would rather see him fight cotto, cintron, etc.

Your'e damned right he's a name now...just like he always has been.

Mosley's proven himself time & time again & if your'e saying he's a gate keeper or something of the like now because Cotto beat him...your'e way off course with that one. Mosley's got a hell of a record of 44 wins, 37 of those by knockout, 5 losses and 1 no contest. To top that off...he's never been knocked out or stopped.

He's won & held titles in 3 weight classes & he's been regarded as one of the greatest boxers of the last decade.

He wasn't TOTALLY devastated by Cotto, one of the most highly regarded young champions of 147lbs.

Way off base with that one.

What is that implying ?? just because he lost a razor thin decision to one of the top P4P fighters in the world ??

Just prior to to the Cotto loss Mosley had dropped from weight jumped from 154 to 157 to 154 back to 147.

During that time he beat Estrada, Cruz, Vargas, & Collazo...not bad at all...when you top that off with handling Oscar twice & then a list of top notch professional contenders & the fact that he had made 9 title defenses just before facing Oscar De La Hoya for his Welter weight title...again not to bad at all.

Even Mosley's losses are commendable. Losing to Wright, Forrest, & Cotto in their primes says a hell of a lot especially that they were all points losses.

You being a Floyd fan...it honestly shocks me that you hold Mosley in such low regard as they are very similar fighters in ilk.

I'd certainly like to see this fight, but only if the more meaningful fights cannot be made, which appears to be the case.
