none of this is hating, im not bashing his skills (although i do think he is highly overated i wasnt saying that here) i was just joking about the FACTS, he calls out guys who are 47 years old
sal im still mighty confused!!! who is the 47 year old calzaghe has been calling out exactly?

zab has a chin and gets stopped because of it....calzaghe has been down but he doesnt get beaten by journeymen.....baldomir is a journeyman and zab was beaten square and fair...calzaghe has neve lost....

i dont quite concede the argument....

you just dont like calzaghe...i dont know why....he's beaten decent fighters, just like zab has....

you sure it aint hating sal? the very thread title is a bit rude to any fan of calzaghe's really...

offer him a fight as the trigger is pulled
That was a good one. But I don't think Sal is hating. He's saying what alot of his fans already know but are afraid to admit it. That calzaghe is a track star, hes a runner,he ducks people. Out of his 17 or so title defenses you'll probably only find 2 maybe 3 names that are even worth mentioning. Lacy was very limited technically and I think a lot of people saw that because I did.All I'm saying is that win doesn't make him great. It confirmed me that he was at least good but just cause you beat lacy don't make you a world beater and a lot of his fans think it does. Before lacy he ran from all hard fights so in my opinion he has used up all his easy/tune-up fights. He wants to be view as great but if his next opponent is not in at least the top 5 of some division then i will be very dissappointed

I really don't think he ran from people, if anything Bernard ducked him - he's famous for it

Joe is guilty of getting comfortable in his own part of the world, not wanting to realize the epicenter of boxing is in America, nowhere else and it never will be. I really think he wanted to fight Jones before he was ruined, but was too stubborn to cross the pond. He was probably asking himself questions like why won't Roy come over here. Why should Roy of gone over there? So for all Calzaghe's greatness he has shortcomings, just they're not in the ring .

    Thankfully Hatton isn't that stubborn

Look at hopkins career and look at joes. Looking at the two together you'll never get me to believe that Hop ducked Joe. They both had oppurtunities to make big fights but only hop made them joe didn't. He ducks people. Joe isn't dumb. He knows America is the epicenter of boxing and hes known for years that if he wanted to make it really big he would have to come over but he didn't.I think thers a little more to it than being comfortable.

why would calzaghe have expected b-hop to leave his weight class while on the way to a record setting number of defenses?

why wouldnt calzaghe just have 1 fight at MW against a number one contender of one of the like 7 titles b-hop held?

all those calzaghe haters, are you the ones that'll be cheering that fake arse De la Hoya on this weekend, shit if he beats Mayorga (who is basically a bar room brawler and shit at boxing) you'll all be puttin him at number 2 p4p behind PBF!! If Joe was a yank he you'd be kissing his ring piece..

Yep, so then Lacy must hit like a girl at best as he was never near hitting Cal as hard as Zab hits.

I guess that we all know that Lacy is not top250 SMW and just hot air like almost all SMW from America.
lacy never landed anything on calzaghe, weve all seen calzaghe get dropped by journeymen
Most 12 stone/168lb+ men in the world could probably drop joe (or any SMW) if they caught him cleanly i.e he had his hands down, didn't see it coming and it was the guys best punch.

Calzaghe couldn't do 147... its just that Sal talks like a 147 Zab has the power to put Joe on the canvas... :P
