Adding smileys sometimes erases my text ?? - anyone else get this

Doesn't happen all the time but sometimes I will type a few lines and add a smiley at the end (more often than not the 'wink' smiley) and all my text will disappear leaving just the smiley - sometimes it might leave like three characters at the beginning


Anyone else ever got this ?

Yes. I get it all the time. I simply right click and select "undo" and it fixes it and adds all the text back. Then I just add a space after after my last sentence and add the smiley in again. Works like a charm.

yeh it happens to me occasionally too and before I add the smiles I always copy the text so then if it disappears I just press paste and it comes back.

lefty - that's the method I use (when I remember to copy before adding smileys)

however I will use Hulk's method !

I have to confess now I never knew you could do an Undo witgh a right click in Internet Explorer !!!

Yeah it happens to me fairly often. However another thing that happens even more frequently is the caps lock button. I'm a reasonably fast typer, but often I do tend to watch the keyboard rather than the screen Add that to a dodgy Caps Lock button which has a mind all of it's own and you're in for some annoyance!

I've never had the smiley problem BUT I used to have this thing when my session would time out as I was typing my text and my text would erase.

I learned this the hard way, this one time I was in the middle of looong post that I had done some research on and had been typing for at least 10 minutes and then when I clicked post my entire text just fucken disappeared I fucken shit pants when I saw the text box empty. From that day on whenever I typing a long text I copy it whenever I see I've typed a pretty long post. Just incase it erases.

Actually the text stays and the Mods just delete anything you write .....

CC...Just kidding Mark....It used to happen to me...I used to also get things where I would go back in the middle of a sentence to fix something and use back space and the word in front would go backwords and delete
