Ok so he thinks he'll win again. Is it for a shot at Cotto?

The winner of this fight gets a shot at the winner of Cotto v Gomez, which is the main event on the same card.

Ok yeah, someone said that earlier in the thread but i was thinking that it was just speculation. Is that a done deal with the winner fighting the winner of cotto v gomez?

Well I for one hope it does come to fruition. Margarito v Cotto would be great.

    What about Clottey then?

If he is the mandatory for the IBF strap what happens to him? He will either have to take another risk in a stay busy fight or wait until later in the year. Who is his manager/ promoter? They should work something out for him.

Why don't Williams and Clottey fight each other for the WBO strap so both of them don't get left out of this.

Williams is already set to fight Quintana....
It does however appear that Clottey will have to take a stay busy fight....
Who knows depending on the WBO we might see Margarito vs. Clottey II before we get Margarito vs. Cotto....

Being a Ghanian raised in the UK I would rather he fought Cintron.

Margorito will beat him again although it would be interesting to see what Clottey can do with his hand OK. I think PW will be too busy for him and outbox him.

I am not saying he would win but I see his best chance against Cintron as Clottey has a nice tight defence and will not get caught by too many Cintron bombs. Clottey could outwork and demotivate Cintron.

I see Margarito taking this again..and for some reason I just can't see Cotto winning against Marg either..Cotto for me would have to win a unanimous desision but Margarito hits hard and is rangey as hell. Couple that with Cotto's chin and I see it as more of a fight that Cotto would have to survive to win. This is unfortunate for me because I have realised that I am officially a Margarito hater

I want know , what Margarito have in specially, At case you dont think that Cotto is more strong and more hard punch than Margarito? Well YEAP.....yes he does... i think that Margarito going have to survive to win.... dont subestimate Cotto my friend , he now is bringing new skills and that isgood because nobody can think that he will come with the same strategy or same fight like Tito did all the time...Cotto is the more stronghest 147 pnd. Welterweight ....

You make some good points Macho. Ones which I havn't overlooked though. Cotto was mighty impressive against Mosely and showed a new range of skills. For me the main advantage for Margarito will be his range and his chin to absorb everything Cotto throws at him. Which is why I feel Cotto would have to win a UD or lose.
I just disagree with Cotto being more powerful..its close but I think Margarito has a bit more power in his shots.

I aint mad at Floyd now, the way these punks are ducking Tall Paul, I hope Floyd never give one of them a chance until they put Paul in the mix. I hope Floyd fights Oscar and make another 25mil. Dont complain about floyd not fighting the best when Tall Paul is clearly #3 in the division but wont even get mentioned. Lets all fight around Paul and hope he just disappears. Sounds like everyone is SCARED of the BOOGIE MAN. Put your head under the covers and when u awake just hope he is gone. I am soo scared. Get a dog if you losers are scared. We should call this card FRIGHT NIGHT instead of Fight Night. 2008 is now known as the year of the cowards in the welterweight division. Mommy Im scared what should I do. Dont worry son just close your eyes and pray that he disappears into thin air. THE BOOGIE MAN WILL NOT BE IGNORED. I hate this corny line but u can run but you cant hide. THE BOOGIE MAN COMETH. FRIGHT NIGHT.
