I too hold Tito in high regard, I really liked his style at 147 (and also at 154.) He's actually a guy I like to watch and I find him uplifting in that a guy with such a nice - almost boyish, personality can be such a demon in the ring.Originally Posted by Dark Lord Al

A KO in 1 or 2 is not unreasonable by any means.

jesus christ this must be the most exciting fight ever! hmmm they have to be the 2 biggest hitters at welter...if not the most then deffo 2 of the top 5 anyways! However hearns takes this in my mind and im sure about this becuase if hearns had to the geezer could box fooking well ala Leoanrd 1....now many people outbox a prime SRL put it that way. Thing is Hearns chin was always a tad suspect so maybe Tito could catch him and knock him out but 8/10 times hearns would be too good for tito.

Tommy would dominate this one. Too much power for Tito at Welter. Hearns 2nd round KO.
hearns would have tito in trouble early but i think tito would come back to win with a late KO
The arguement about shuler bieng a slow starter is a strange one..
The way i see it is thus..
Shuler was a slow starter.. and by no means a big name.. but also by no means a less then worthy opponent.
Shuler was a slow starter, But you'll notice in the fight he doesnt actually start slow.. Whether this is due to the occasion or the nerves he actually gets on his toes a bit and starts putting the jab out there and getting into the action..
Whereas tito was at times a slow starter, and could be dropped early in fights.. but tito was always in my opinion very composed and the first couple of rounds were always always spent studying his foe, just giving them some moves and seeing how they react.. seeing what in fact after all the build up and talk before the fight they would actually offer him come crunch time..
and to be a slow starter and to not be particularly effective in early rounds to tito trinidad is not specifically to loose the rounds.. he didnt always give them away.. he just didnt get busy and put the real magic on his opponent till a couple rounds in..
And sorry if this is quite a late estimation of the subject![]()

Trinidad NEVER fought anyone with a fraction of the power Hearns had. I loved watching Felix fight, but he'd get decapitated in this one.
Hearnes would win by KO. Tito is very overrated IMO. Still a good fighter, but by no mean a Tommy Hearnes.
