Dont know about you guys but I believe him. I love the part when he says the "I'll never lose to a white boy" comment was just pantomime.

Nobody has ever smashed Hopkins up. And Calzaghe won't be the first. If anything I see Hopkins smashing Calzaghe. William Joppy style
If the fight is even close then the judges are going to give it to Hopkins. Calzaghe is going to have to dominate to win and he will. With the extra seven pounds he may even stop Hopkins.
Calzaghe is younger and stronger he might just do it, but hopkins has been around the block a few times also, its going to be a good fight!

This is going to be a great fight and I have no idea who is going to win. I'm leading towards Calzaghe based on age and workrate, but I wouldn't be surprised if B-Hop somehow pulled out the victory.
Yeah but you saw Lacy and Kessler smashing Calzaghe so this might complete your trilogy of wishful thinking.Originally Posted by Violent Demise

I'm not sure if Calzaghe is going to "smash Hopkins up," but I am sure that he's going to give Bernard the boxing clinic of a lifetime. Hopkins will be lucky to win 2 rounds.
The only thing that sucks for Calzaghe about this fight is that after he's done dominating Hopkins, everybody is going to say that Hopkins was too old and had this fight taken place ___ years ago that the result would have been different; when in reality, the Calzaghe of today would bury Hopkins at any point in his career.
It's too bad that Joe fought spent nearly his whole career in the UK, because had he come to America much earlier in his career, he would easily be a household name on par with Oscar Delahoya and Roy Jones Jr. Although I'm not so sure that he beats RJJ at 168.
Joe will not be facing Lacy once again.I like Calzaghe,His gusto and attitude and willingness to mix it up.He wears his emotions on his sleeve but to think he Is going to school Hopkins is off.
Hopkins can be extremely frustrating (to his fans),sometimes a little to cutesy,10 times over to his opponent's.On this one I think Hopkins will look to offset Calzaghe's tempo and bring It into a Hopkins-esque Clinic on Calzaghe.
This will be the most face first pressure Hopkins has faced as of late but Joe has never been in with this much guile and ring generalship.Age is not a factor here,43 or 35.....whatever!Calzaghe will look to KO Hopkins, where as Hopkins just wants to beat people up.
Great fight all around. And In my opinion Jones does not deserve either one.
Calzaghe doesnt smash people up, he accumulates points. He will probably win the majority of rounds but he wont bust up BHOP. If near prime RJJ couldnt bust up a less experienced Hopkins Joe C sure as hell isnt going to.
CC for great post and I agree especially with the point that he would beat hopkins at any point in their careers.Originally Posted by frozensolid_702

Have u actually ever watched a prime Hopkins? To say that Calzaghe would beat Hopkins at any point in his career is just wrong. It would be a close fight that either man could have won.Originally Posted by Bx730NY
