what about the fact that when you start doing this at the age at 10 or so, by the time you're 30 your body has to be a little worn down from it all

think there could be physical advantages to starting late? maybe give you a little extra longevity

and how fast can u rack up pro fights, obviously you'd wanna get as much pro experience under your belt as soon as possible. would 1 fight a month be pushing things, up until you're doing 8 rounders of course

    Possible.

Look at Mesi for example...he started late & IWO...he still has huge issues.

I think that the pedigree is the most important part for a boxer. I honestly do. I think that it all boils down to time logged in at the start...could be wrong...but I could be right too.

    Who knows?

Well think of tarver he looks much younger in the ring that RJJ...because tarver just got to the limelight so he has extra energy...RJJ has been fed quite well for some time now...so his 36 seems older than Tarver's...

If you start at 25 and fight till 36 that's only 11 years...but if you're an exceptional amateur you can turn pro at 18 and fight to 38 that's 20 years of service...if you turn pro at 25-27 you will spend the next three years making a name for yourself..or you can pad your record by beating a bunch of nobodies then talk shit to the champ and get a big payday...like margarito..except don't lose to the nobodies like margarito did and you might get your shot faster...lol

It depends on the division...the bigger fighters tend to mature later such as cruiser weight or hw..and those guys tend to start later anyway because they play football or something else.....the smaller guys seem to start earlier and have a ton more boxing knowledge and ability.. They need it because of the "speed". So i would say if you're a hw with decent athletic ability you got a shot if you start at 20 or so..if you're a middleweight or lighter you're in trouble because the first thing a fighter loses is speed, power is the last. The bigger divisions rarely have excellent boxers (Chris Byrd excluded) so the emphasis is on power then boxing ability. the speed thing is not a good thing to lose when you're starting to finally get your groove around 25-26....You simply haven't had the experience to start dealing with aging process because you're still learning how to become a great fighter.
It feels good to be back home.
