I don't think I have ever heard Joe talk about an opponent with such distain...Hopkins tried to embaress Calzaghe at the lead up for PBF/Hatton...Joe did not take kindly to it....

At 44-0 with 32 KO's be it Hopkins or anyone else from 160-175 it is not wise to piss off the SMW champion

Although I do agree that Calzaghe has a great shot of beating Hopkins... If he does, it's not going to be because he is more up for it or mentally stronger, that's for damn sure imo. Hopkins might lose this fight, but he's not going to lose the mind games and he's not going to lose his cool in there because of anything that happens before the fight. IF anyone does, that will be Joe. He's shown much more tendency to be frustrated by an opponents tactics in ring than Hopkins EVER has. Even if Hopkins is losing, he's controlling the pace and cool as a cucumber in there.

One could question if it's because the lack of respect hopkins has been shown, you could see it at the hatton vs mayweather weigh in he didn't like it, in america being disrespected, then he comes over here, scribes make a fool out of him, fans don't give a crap for him. Bunce said about how big hopkins is said to be in the states, but out of all the "american greats" his name has never been anything in the uk, the rest have made a name here, even if they haven't fought, i believe hopkins never has - mayb thats why he his showing his temper, or maybe it's simply signs of what's ahead is getting to him.

As some one said a hopkins vs calzaghe 24/7 sure as hell would be good:P hopkins and lil enzo would steal the show.
That's really grasping for straws there if you ask me.. Very few big name American fighters are commonly known in the UK. I doubt Hopkins is letting that bother him much at all, he's just trying to play the villain as he has done frequently in recent years.

Im still looking for the part where he threatens him
Last I checked motioning and using the f-bomb doesnt constitute a threat,if it did,all of South Philly would be in jail tommorrow

I'm just trying to figure out why that table is so small. Looks like they stole it from a midget strip tease; only thing missing is the pole....

    Bollocks!!

It's all hype for the fight.

No way does Bernard use his style to dictate Calzaghe. It will be another fight like v. Jermain Taylor, but Calzaghe's edge will be bigger.

Calzaghe will outhustle him for sure.

Nard can't cope with Joe's workrate at this stage of his career. Hell, Winky's workrate was giving him problems in a lot of rounds - but Joe is Hopkins size, Winky was a midget compared to Hopkins.

It is funny. Nice one. Hopkins seems to be feeling the need to play the bad guy no matter whether he's trying to psych a guy out or complaining because his feet are cold. Hee hee, his feet are cold so he has to make out he's being "pushed" so he has to "push back man". Wouldn't want to be the waiter that brought him shellfish when he ordered steak when the cameras are on.

But this is nothing to Hopkins. Like others have said whatever happens before the fight is not going to affect BHop. I remember when he was chased out of the venue by Tito's fans who were all going to kill him after he stomped on Titos flag. The pre fight stuff is Hopkins bread and butter these days. In the fight is where Joe has his best chance.

Wasn't saying that was the reason...Just saying that because Hopkins is all fired up and pissed off does not mean that he is going to win....Don't coun't Joe out is my point....Which is why I replied to VD with what I wrote

Well considering he is FORTY THREE YEARS OLD, I think any loss would end his career.

I reckon outside the ring he's probably the scariest boxer there is. He's got a real predatory killer nature. One scary dude

Hopkins trying to get Calzaghe to loose focus and to get himself up for the fight by playing the victim. Calzaghe too experienced and Hopkins will use all the dirty Philly tactics in the ring but it will not work.
