Damn, a friend of mine's birthday Friday and went to a bar and smoked like a pack, first slipup since I started but haven't had one since.

I went from 40 cigarettes a day to none...

it was easy... how i did it i reversed the craving in my mind.

when i really wanted one bad i would step back and say fuck look what this is doing to me so the more i craved the stonger i got and hated them

lasted 4 years and i'm natrually thin but put on a shitload of weight and the strange thing was i was eating less and more active to help me and it was really hard to shift the weight... started smoking again and the weight fell off me and i'm back to my thin self again and feel great i will not stop smoking again

but if you are dedicated to stay in shape and can do that while giving up then that is the way to go mate... but for me i wasnt 100% commited to staying in shape so my cigs keep me in shape

I quit back in June. I just woke up from a long night of partying/drinking and smoking and decided I was done with smoking and haven't touched one since. I have gained about 10 pounds though which I would rather have the extra wieght then smoking. I go to the gym 5 days a week and I' m now able to more cardio then I use to when I would smoke.
The hardest thing for me when I quit was when I would have some beers or go out it was really hard not to smoke because to me thats when a cigarette tastes the best. But I'm over it now and I don't even think about smoking a cig when I drinking now.
You can do man, it just takes allot of will power thas for sure.

spot on mate that is the way to go and you do not miss having a smoke when drinking in fact after 6 months you don't miss them at all.

i didnt go to the gym and put on 3+ stone....

so going to the gym is a must or you open yourself up to all the other threats that come with the extra weight

The patch only made me nasious and dizzy...The gum was useless as well...Funny how some people can smoke like bandits their whole life and be OK...My Uncle Spider Smokes Pall Mall Non Filters 2pks a day and at 60 has no problems...said he has been smoking since he was 14...go figure

i enjoyed smoking not the smell or the fact it cud kill me but i enjoyed it and wen i finally felt i didnt wanna smoke no more i quit cold turkey.

I've heard of people who have smoked for years, have TRIED to stop smoking and failed many times in the past, but then find out one day that they have lung cancer, and upon finding that out were able to quit cold turkey no questions asked.

I have been trying to quit and it is the HARDEST thing in the world to do.....I know all the bad things about smoking, The fact a craving only last 5 min and every other fact on the nasty habit...but it is damn hell!!!!!

For those who smoke QUIT NOW..go to the Doctor get the new $400 a month drug that takes away the desire by blocking bnrain waves...do what ever but S*** Trying to quit sucks!!!!!

I wish I never started......My own fault and I deserve everything I get...but I never imagined it would be like this....I can give up sex easier then this...Including masterbation in the time of true need.....

I smoked for 2 years straight daily. Then one day when I went out on a date a girl told me "You smell like ciggarette really bad" (Keep in mind I had showered shaved and all)
The thought of a woman coming near me and thinking my smell was a displeasure kicked me in the nuts that same day when I got home I threw my my pack of Djarums out I threw all my ashtrays, lighters and matches out. Never again have I smoked Djarums/cigarrettes since that day. I do smoke weed every now and then. Honestly Daxx, it wasn't hard for me in the sense that at that time I was fresh out of H.S. and in College and I wanted pussy so if smelling like smoke was gonna stopd some pussy from me then I needed to fix that and I did. So I really didn't struggle as far as wanting them I just did it and never looked back.
Good luck Daxx, and hopefully you find something worth quitting for and you have the will power and mind set to stop completely.

In am getting there...I wish I had quit years ago when I was in school or at that HS age when I was able to without a problem....I am still making headway...Down to 3 a day...The bitch is that morning smoke...add a cup of coffee and it is like they hold you down to pout it in you I swear....I will kick this sure as hell is hot though...I am at 3 and 2 months ago was at a pack plus a day so
