This could be the breakout fight that Lopez needs but he still has some grooming to do.Patience will be The key factor,Could get overwhelmed in the spot light and be very tempted to jump on Deleon who at times can look very vulnerable and easy to tag,but Deleon can hurt most any one he connects on.But I think Lopez will keep his head about him.Has to resist careless premature exchanges.Nice semi cross roads fight(?)

Not getting desperate and effective counter punching is the key for victory I see for Lopez. He has a beautiful, strong, almost invisible right hook that I believe can make a lot of damage to De Leon, if he fights smartly. Lopez will need to show that he has grown up very fast and not fall with the pressure.

i think if de leon dances around to his left then he would of has the fight sealed, Ponce cant fight moving sideways

That's true. Lopez has so many weapons. He has the all-around skills-anyone can see that if they really watch. The only question in my mind is how he will handle the pressure/stage. That is the only question that needs to be answered in my book.

Saludos desde la Isla! I agree Lopez has the skills and power to give the surprise, and how he will manage the pressure will be the big question. I was expecting Juanma's team to make 2 or 3 more fights before this one. But, now that it is coming, I am hoping that he does not fall to the pressure and maintain his focus and remain calm, counter punching D Leon. Then, put the pressure if he can hurt.

Rican you gotta understant something here JuanMas power has been tested against D to C class fighters. So yes he does have good power so far the numbers don't lie. But now look at PDL his powers been tested at World Class level. Once I see JuanMa beat a World Class opponent by KO/TKO then I can rate him highly.

Take Roman Gonzalez for example 16 ko's in 18 fights. Sure the kids got power and all but I wouldn't say hes a harder puncher then Ulises Solis who's powers been tested at World Class.

Cmon Demise , i know Ponce have power , but think that Juanma have power too , don't mistake about him my friend , i saw that Ponce have poor defensive ,this might be his weakness too....

Juanma looks awesome. So patient,so cool, calcualted, mature and far far betetr technically than Ponce. Then again, everyone Ponce has beaten is far better than him technically too.

I give Juanma a much much better chance than Bautista,he fights maturer than boom boom. The key at the end of the day when fighting Ponce De Leon is your chin, If you can take his punch, there's a high chance you can give him problems/make him look bad.Problem is,only a few have been able to do so(counter puncher-Penelosa,freakishly tall-Caballaro,Runner-Escobedo) Juanma is none of those,so I'm still favoring Ponce but man it should be a good one!

Mick, I was just thinking about what you said a day or so before this post and you are absolutely right. Ponce's opponents have some pretty good records making his KO's very impressive and making him, despite his wild swinging nature, a force to be reckoned with. Still, 19-21 KO's for Lopez means what it says-that Lopez's power is for real. Basically, Lopez can KO Ponce with no problem, not only because of his power, but also because of his counterpunching ability. He seems to land his punches flush and Ponce leaves himself so open that combined with Lopez's KO power, he can get laid out. Someone is definitely getting KO'd on that night.
