I just got done watching it, ouma really lost that fight. A good win for k9 but im dissapointed in ouma. I think his slowing down now.
I had Bundrage winning,I hope ouma does not get the urge to re-enlist as it seems his days at top are done.
Hey there showing Moorer Vs. Holyfield 1...........again. Still trying to figure out how a Champion Holyfield can score a clean KD (2nd round) and the judges.....all Three....Call it 10-10 ?? Was the difference in the Fight.
Good heads up and effort Swice ...Rep to ya
Maybe Ouma's just lost the fire, I know he didn't get stinking rich or anything but I'm sure hes made a comfy enough life for himself...maybe he's not willing to put the work in anymore that it takes, wasn't it his thing to throw a 100 punches a round, maybe he's body is giving in on him, I mean there could be a 100 different reasons and ouma's the only one that knows what it is, but hopefully he's been smart with his money to be able to live with it cause it doesn't look likes he's going to get any more "big" paydays. Bundrage just seemed to want it more, it was one ugly fight though as someone mentioned, a crapload of holding not much clean punching really...For a second when that cut openened it looked like ouma would take it but as soon as the round was over so was that.
I'll give credit to Brundage. He doesn't have many weapons, but he found a way to make what he does have work. In the beginning he was holding and then he was tentative after the cut, but as the rounds went on he got some space and found a consistent home for the right hand. He landed it time and time again as the fight wore on and those right hands are what made the difference.
I think we have seen the last of Kassim Ouma as a viable contender. This should have been an easy fight for him against a guy who basically has a right hand and nothing else. Instead of being active and taking advantage of a guy with limited abilities he kind of just went through the motions with each round. He wasn't aggresive, except for a the round and the round after Brundage got cut, and more importantly he wasn't effective. Not to many people were picking Ouma to beat Taylor, but they sure had him beating Saul Roman and Brundage. Boxing only gives you a couple of chances before you see your star fade and that might just have been the curtain call for Kassim Ouma.
Thanks and rep returned. I wouldn't waste your time trying to figure out how some judges score, as sometimes I don't think were using the same math, or using the same scoring qualifications, or using the same rules, or watching the same fight, or...I could go on forever with this.
Well thats its for me. Got work tomorrow so I'm calling it a night. Plus I don't want to talk about this ugly fight anymore, LOL.
I know the RbR wasn't the best but my stream quality was pretty poor and there was some buffering issues. But I think you got the gist of what was going on. Peace
Ouma is shot
I agree Ouma is pretty much done. I always feel bad for him when he loses because he's such a nice guy, but I think his hunger or whatever he had before is gone. K-9 did hold alot, mainly because he doesn't have any inside fighting skills, and Ouma pretty much was just walking right into his chest the whole night. Very ugly fight to watch but K-9 had the cleaner more effective shots. You can hear those shots when K-9 rips em off. He just needs to learn some more combos and needs to add to his limited offensive arsenal. Teddy made a good point about him not having an uppercut, which would have been his money punch if he had it against Ouma.
He may be a bit shot but I think its more he just doesn't want to be in there. Just a total non effort, the bending over and throwing lefts to the body, WTFTotally a shell of his former self. They cashed him out versus Taylor, now its just prolonging the inevitable.
Anyway he's made some money, might as well just go ahead and retire, he obviously has no interest in fighting anymore.
Wasn't blown away at all by that Mike Jones guy. Got a lot to learn.
The 4 rounder was fun.
