Hey mine was serious too. Fighting back against a vicious animal can be enough to save your life. Why do you think they reccomend punching and doing what ever to a shark if one attacks you. Except dont go for the eyes on a shark like people say coz they roll them back when biting.

Was speaking to a marine biologist once and the whole punch on the nose thing is rubbish. You can't get enough torque underwater to get the power to inflict any pain in a sharks nose. She reckoned the best bet was to gouge the eyes. They roll back but its only a thin protective layer that can be penetrated by a human thumb/finger. She added at the end that if a shark gets close enough to you for you to do either of these things then you f*cked anyway. All you can do is hope the shark doesn't like the taste.

I have heard that you are not to show fear. Animals can sense when you are afraid and that can make them be more aggresive. Just be confident and keep running by, dont give them the opportunity to run up to you.

I have a healthy fear of dogs myself and I usually try to stay confident and not show my fear.

Would you have felt so threatened if they were white dogs?

If they were muslim dogs, would you have been looking to see if their belts had wires coming out of them. If they were French dogs, they would have sniffed your arse then run away.

Tybuffs right, animals can sense fear, so try and stay confident and put the fear back in the dog. On the other hand, some dogs are just plain crazy and will attack you whatever you do, so if the fear thing don't work be ready to start kicking it, keeping your face out of reach, and for fucks' sakes cover your balls.
