Whilst the talent pool isn't as deep for MMA yet as it is in boxing there are some exceptionally talented fighters at the top of the game.
Guys like Anderson Silva, Cung Lee, B J Penn and George St Pierre are as talented as anybody in boxing.
The potential skill set is much much higher in MMA and how you can say all the fighting styles are the same is completely beyond me.
There is a world of difference from say the strong stand up and take down defense style of Lydell, to the awesome striking and submission skills of Anderson Silva to the amazing leg kicks, spinning back fists and throws of Cung Lee and the super slams from Rampage Jackson.
MMA has advanced in the last couple years to the point where some of my favourite fights of the past 24 months have been in MMA rather than boxing.
Even the recent ultimate fighter winners like Nate Diaz and Mac Danzig demonstrate a superb and wide ranging skill set and let's be clear they would absolutely own any boxer of the same weight in a real fight.
I love boxing but I also love MMA. As JT Tock will tell you I used to be hater of the highest order but the more I've got into the sport the more I appreciate all of the different skill sets required to compete at the top level.
And I'd rather watch George St Pierre, Cung Lee, Rampage Jackson, Anderson Silva, Nate Diaz, Fedor Emilianenko, Randy Couture etc over Bernard Hopkins any day of the week.
That's great, enjoy the foot stomping![]()
All I can say is I respect your opinion but you won't change mine or others, but what I can say is I've fought many of these so called tough guy MMA people. The most recent was a striker who's record is 10-0 with 8 K.O.'s in the super heavyweight division. He decided to work on his boxing skills a bit more and was strutting around the gym like he owned it.Not too talk too much S**T but that guy left with a bloody nose and cut's under both eye's and I haven't seen him since. All I know his name is Brad.

Lyle only one of those guys was from MMA, and that was the least ass looking one Josh Haynes.
...you said "least" ass looking one of them meaning they all to some degree look like asses.
And he still looks like a total douchebag and follows the stereotype which I have put forth and therefore I am vindicated.
you cant compare boxing and MMA. there is no comparision between the two. i like both although i change the channel when i know that its the "ground fighters" night. i hate ground fighting. i think it consumes too much time and makes it less exciting, well, at least for me.

Whats to debate? Ok, so you're going to take a couple of MMA fighters (guys who really are unknown nad not even on the world MMA stage) and judge MMA as a whole by that? All you're doing is making yourself look like a fool. Yeah MMA has its share of douchebag fans (the same can be said for boxing), but there are a lot of intelligent MMA fans who follow it passionately and know what they're talking about. What you're doing now is no better than an MMA fan taking Mike Tyson, Tony Ayala and James Butler and drawing the conclusion that boxers are nothing but women raping/beating, murdering, drug dealing thugs
