Margarito doesnt even try lol. I wish Cotto would just stick to spanish, his english is still pretty painful to listen to. I just watched their LA press conference and Cotto did the whole thing in english

They could still have made a good countdown on it and it still would have sparked a lot of interest. Countdowns are all about narrators anyway. I would have really liked to see one. Fucking hbo

In my mind the winner of this fight (especially true if it is Cotto) is essentially undisputed champ at welterweight b/c pussyboy is completely irrelevant in the division.

Some bad news folks: HBO has no plans to produce one of its outstanding half-hour countdown shows previewing the Miguel Cotto-Antonio Margarito pay-per-view fight on July 26. When Top Rank president Todd duBoef told me that, I was shocked. How does what might be the best fight of the year on paper not warrant a preview show when so many far lesser fights have gotten the royal treatment from HBO? This one is a compelling match rich with storylines. To blow this one off is a bizarre move and one of the most incredibly poor decisions the HBO brass has ever made with regard to boxing programming this side of signing off on all of those terrible Roy Jones mandatory fights back in the day along with the creation of the stinkbomb series "KO Nation." And keep this in mind -- HBO doesn't even have to pay the roughly $125,000 production cost of the countdown shows. The promoters pay for them out of the marketing budget for the pay-per-view. Something just doesn't feel right about this decision. It makes me wonder about a hidden agenda at HBO.

In his chat today, he said HBO is reconsidering, since I guess, they are getting a lot of flack from the media, and fans. So I call on all of you to help push HBO to do the right thing.

When I herad that HBO had not decided to do a countdown for Cotto/Margarito I said to myself, "This can't be true. This could surely be "fight of the year!"

So you've decided to not do it, huh?

Well, good thing I got to see the countdown to Delahoya Forbes... That was a real barn burner.

So HBO somehow thinks that OF ALL THE FIGHTS THAT DON'T WARRANT A COUNTDOWN YOU CHOOSE ONE OF THE MOST ANTICIPATED FIGHTS OF THE YEAR!

This is a horrible decision and to be honest makes me second guess whether or not I will choose to to continue to subscribe to your channel. I only have HBO for the fights and if this type of brushoff of major fights is what I, as a fan, am to expect I'm not sure I care to pay for this service anylonger.

I would reconsider this if I were you as It has upset many a boxing fan.

Hopefully this letter reaches someone who would care to listen.

Multiple sources, including Arum, have confirmed that HBO has caved and that Margarito-Cotto will have a countdown show
