I thought about this all night because it really disgusted me.

The man is actually appealing to North Americans (the greatest mix of races ever....)

Hoax or not I can't imagine this affecting you one way or another. I guess I am just an indifferent fuck but people say awful things about others all the time. Gross generalizations, raping women, killing people, hell that is life.

I think vague generalisations, stereotypes and racial classing are commonly adopted (particularly by the youth) as they feel that it is not only acceptable, but expected from them.

However, I feel that this letter goes beyong generaliisation or stereotyping. The letter actually goes as far as the condemnation of an entire nationality of people and it's emmigrants.
To say "that is life" is to accept it, I don't thiunk we should. The truth is, this mentality should be changed.

Perhaps we're just disagrreing with the definition of generalkisation.

But I feel that this extends beyong "genersaisation." I feel there is a difference between what I view as condemnation as illustrated in the above lettter and the "harmless" generalisation which occurs in general day to day life.

I feel generaalisation would cover attitudes such as "All Irish People love drinking, fighting and wear green."
However, I would take a much dimmer view ofa condemnation suh as "All Irish are worthless illeterates who contribute little to society."

After receiving an email containing the alleged Hate letter from Art Bell, I was initially outraged by the hateful contents of his letter. I wanted to find out more about the creep who authored such a sick letter! I searched for more information about him in the internet, and here’s what I was able to gather:

Over the last three years someone has been posting a malicious letter about Filipino’s with the subject: “Filipinos Make Me Puke”. In an attempt to smear Art Bell, someone took this Hate Message from a web site (now defunct), anonymously posted it to the Internet and signed Art Bell’s name and address to it. Every few months it gets posted again and again on newsgroups and e-mail lists, with additional hateful language to incite Filipino Internet users to respond to Art Bell.
ART BELL DID NOT WRITE THIS EMAIL
Art Bell is as much a victim of this hoax as you are. In fact, he is married to a Filipina and has the highest regard for the Philippine people. He is as offended by the contents of this email as you are. He has posted these facts on his website and has responded to every single email from any of you with the truth and the facts. Still, the vicious anti-Filipino email keeps circulating and angry Filipinos keep emailing Art!
