Default Sartison left the ring on a stretcher

While Mikkel Kessler won via 12th round stoppage, all of boxingconfidential’s attention, hopes, prayers are now with Dimitri Sartison. Sartison was dominated in almost every round by Mikkel Kessler, and according to our editor, the German’s corner should have stopped the fight way sooner. As it happens Kessler finally forced it in the 12th after which time a shaken up Sartison was sat down on his stool in his corner, and though initially ok, he seemed to lose some motor skills, and was laid out on the ring apron with his legs twitching, until a stretcher was brought into the arena and he was taken out.

Stupid comment - what makes you think that Kessler's chin is NOT up to Pavlik? He has never been down in the ama or pro from a head-shot or even hurt, so one must asume that his beard is quite good.
Pavlik has knocked out guys who have never been down or stopped. Zertuche is a 160 version of Andrade. I think Pavlik could easly knock out Kessler . Kessler comes in strait. He doesnt bat punches. He has little head movement and he leaves his jab out to long in the later rounds.

Then it is some kind of strange that he has not been down before in his almost 20 years in boxing.......

Come on be fair...Kessler got a pretty good chin, which might hold even through a Pavlik fight and BTW the Pavlik/Zertuche fight was stopped because of a cut if I remember right...

just watched the fight.. kesslers flurries were awesome.. he looks fast, and real destructive when throwing combinations..

Kessler/Pavlik would be real interesting.. I think Kelly may have it in the power department, and we know he has a HELL of a chin, and Kessler got caught early with a right by sartison and almost hit the deck, and if that was Pavlik he would've gone down.. so i'd have to give Pavlik the edge in this fight, but it would be a hell of a bout..

Default Anyone find Kessler looked sluggish in yesterday's fight?

He just did not seem right. Got hit with lots of right hands and seemed slower than usual. I gave him 11 out of 12 rounds (well the 12th was a given ), but he got shook in the first round and just did not have much spring in his step.

He made the Sartison fight tougher than it should have been IMO. He was full of ring rust.

Man, Kess looked mean there, very nice. I like his chances at 168 going forward, I just hope he doesn't become the "avoided" one of the division.
He definately has the risk factor going for him.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Kessler looks easy to hit. Sartison should have been out before the 12th. He is 5 foot 9.5. Kessler keeps his left down to long and he pulls back to throw a right. I think Pavlik throws the harder shots even though he pushes his punches out. Kessler is 6 foot and a half with a 72 inch reach. Pavlik is 6' 2.5" with a 76 inch reach. I think Pavlik's conditioning is just as great as Kesslers. Pavlik has the edge in punching power and equaled in chin. Pavllik has heart like Gatti. I would be a good fight but i would say Pavlik by TKO in the mid later rounds.
