I agree. The odd thing is that I think Pavlik would have an excellent chance to taking Winky apart and maybe even stopping him. I'm a huge Winky fan, but his age, combined with his recent lack of movement and the weight fluctuations seem to indicate that he is there for the taking against a very active power-puncher like Pavlik.
I'm a huge Winky fan and I'd definitely be cheering for him vs. Pavlik, but it's an uphill struggle for Winky IMO. I imagine the accolades would pour in if Pavlik stopped Winky or beat him convincingly.
What is really bugging me is Arum seems to be changing the opponent every damn week. He knows Pavlik is not PPV material so I have a feeling he is trying to nickel and dime his opponents so he does not lose his ass financially. He has to look at Pavlik as long term. He just might have to lose some money fighting Winky, to improve Pavlik's exposure to make Pavlik more marketable down the road.
I wouldn't want to jeopardize the Abraham match at this point - Winky's too dangerous. If Pavlik gets past Abraham - which I don't think is a given - then Winky should be the next guy in line.
I'm not crazy about the Williams matchup, either, but at least Pavlik's staying busy til the next big fight.

What about Sturm
I don't know how it will go, but he will look look like a pretty big middle fight night, won't look like a mismatch at least. This may be surprisingly competitive, we'll see.
Oops
I say as well take the money lose and fight Wright. He is a lefty as like Calzaghe (if he ever grew some balls to step in the ring with Pavlik) and this would prep him for Calzaghe. I do belive Williams at 6'2" has no reason to be at 147. He needs to bulk it up and go up to 154-160. He is fast. He throws allot of punches but I honestly dont see him going longer than 3-6 rounds. Pavlik touches that chin and Williams is not busy and on the defensive. Not to mention he is a southpaw.
