I think Bradley beating Witter was the most shocking to me.

The second place for this so far goes to Latimore over Powell.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

I dont think Santos - Alcine should be on that list . To me it was no shock cuz I always knew Santos could fight and he can bang too . Alcine had an unbeaten record but these days all that means is that he's been protected

I was surprised Paul lost to Quintana but the rematch put things right

Witter losing to Bradley I didnt see coming . Bradley was unbeaten so I assumed he was rubbish I was wrong

Lopez smashing Ponce out in a round was a shock (not a major surprise he won though)

Yeah especially since DPDL actually did land on him first.

In the olden days on fight posters they never used to put on a boxers win/loss record, they just used to put down who they had fought and that would be an accurate assessment of how good they were.

    Few for thought

    Karmazin v Buema
    Quintana v Williams 1
    McIntrye v Anderson
    Campbell v Diaz
    Bradley v Witter
    Munroe v Martinez
    Vera v Lee
    Bundrage v Ouma
    Phillips v Spinks
    George v Byrd
    Williams v Herrera
    Latimore v Powell
    Santos v Alcine
Fields v Barrett (Not for anyone who knows anything bout boxing)
    Shumenov v Griffin
I say Witter-Bradley. Or Karmazin-Buema (didn't see that coming). Campbell is a good fighter. I didn't think he'll win. But was not shocked by it. I picked Quintana to beat Williams. So that was expected. Lee is garbage. So it's no shock he lost. I think Spinks deserved the win. Santos-Alcine is no upset. Santos has always been a good fighter. Ouma and Byrd are shot fighter. And shot fighters lose. The rest are not high profile enough to be consider upset of the year.

Must admit I was shocked by Bradley beating Witter but think he would do it again now.

Margarito's KO of Cotto was by far the biggest upset in terms of its impact on boxing and the status of the welterweight division.

The most suprising defeat for me though was Karmazin being KO'd by someone I'd never heard of.

At least most of the other fights we knew it was possible there could be an upset, in that fight it never even entered my head that it was going to be anything more than a routine mid round KO for Roman.

Margarito over cotto should be in top-5 if you're talking about the bookies's opinions in vegas. Our pinoy champ A.J.banal losing to rafael concepcion is one. He was winning all rounds till his stamina gave in..and suffered his first ever loss to the llittle torrito.
Holt stopping torres with the help of a headbutt can also be considered an upset since the headbutt came in accidentally without the ref catching it. Torres was basically outpunching holt before he got clipped with a ko, imo..
