Well I just watched all the episodes again this weekend, because I needed to make a dvd for a friend who wanted to watch, and there was no other girl there.

There's a part in the scene that shows the two draining Bill's blood and you see a girl in the back ground, but that's Sookie, sneaking up on them. That's only thing, that I think, that you could be talking about.

Unless, like you had mentioned, you somehow got a different version. Do you still have that episode, so you can watch it again?
hmm that's interesting, I just looked at the proper first episode and you are right there is no girl.

The first version of that episode I saw was their screener and Tara was played by a different actress.

In that one a girl was watching (I think she was black) and the way the camera was set up it looked (at least to me) that she somehow used mind control to wrap the chain around his neck and then fled.

It was confusing as I downloaded the first 3 episodes at once and so initially I was confused as to who Tara was in the second episode and what happened to the girl who was in the first episode. Took me a while to realise I had an prescreening version where Tara was played by a different actress!

I've deleted that screener version now but I'll download it again and have a look.

Here's a rapidshare link to the screener version if you want to have a look
[RS.com] True.Blood.S01E01.PREAiR.DVDSCR.XviD-MEDiEVAL - Best Movie - Download Direct Link - Free Movies - Full Softwares

I'm not sure if the girl was the first Tara coming out of the bar to watch or if it was someone else they subsequently deleted from the script but it is interesting to watch.

I definitely thought it looked like there was some kind of telekinesis going on though and that the girl somehow got the chain to wrap around the guys neck rather then Sookie who clearly didn't know how to lasoo with a metal chain

And you were right about me being pleased with the sex scene, that Suki is so fucking hot.

Actually watching him bite into her neck and drink her blood turned me on.

First Hitler's face pissing fetish and now Bills blood drinking, I think I may have some issues.

I'm worried I'll be exchanging weblinks with plopeater soon
Thanks for the download, I'll have to watch it this weekend, and see all the differences between the two episodes.

Yeah, I knew you would be happy about Sookie getting some nookie!

I thought it was interesting in this episode, that the dog, seemed fine being next to Bill when he was standing outside of Sookie's window. Does the dog no longer consider Bill a threat?

Killersheep gave me something to think about. We were talking about whether or not there is a demon inside of Tara's mom, and he said that he thinks that it was Tara's mom, that killed Grandma. Then I started thinking about it, and that could be, because Grandma was killed differently than the other two. Tara's mom might have gotten up to speak at the funeral, because she felt guilty that she couldn't stop the demon from doing it.

I just know that I can't wait until the next episode, because this show is so addicting!!

    Yeah that's definitely a possibility.

Whose hands do you reckon it was around Sookie's throat when she was asleep?

Sam was also wearing a blue shirt but the cuffs were different.

They really didn't give anything away in this episode which leads me to assume they have already been guaranteed a 2 or more series and so are settling into some Lost style watertreading for a few eps.

I think it's going to be a few weeks of character development and little real action now

I'm still sure Sam is a shapeshifter or werewolf but I don't think we will be hearing anything more along those lines for another month or so now...........

I know for a fact, that it has already been picked up for a second season. They picked it up, right after the 2nd episode, because it has such good ratings.

I don't think it was Sam's hands either. Sam is too obvious to be the killer, that's why it's not him. I think it's someone we haven't seen yet.

Yeah my thinking too pretty much.

The actor who played Sam did play a bad guy in Dexter though and ended up being killed by Dex for being a repeated drunk driver who had killed several people and bribed his way out of jail.

Now I think he has an untrustworthy face.

I hope he's a good guy though, and Sookie should be able to tell seeing as she can read his thoughts.

Hmmm, wondering if anyone has watched any episodes of the new Knight rider? I just saw it for download and they have 3 episodes already. The car looks cool enough that the show could be okay...

I still have to give myself a chance to watch the True Blood episodes i've downloaded so I can join the gossip... I've read a couple of things you've talked about but they don't mean anything to me yet so i'll just make sure I stay out of here once I start though, until I catch up to the latest episode.

I think maybe there was 2 different versions of the first episode as you guys said. Below under episode 1 there is "pre-air pilot" and then the one entited S01E01. I think I originally downloaded the pre-air one and it had a couple of scenes missing where a screen came up saying (scene 31 missing). It was weird.
Plus I think this is the part you guys were talking about, but in the scene where the guy gets the chain around his neck, there WAS a lady watching from the tree's who runs off.

Yeah that's the one Diz, I'm not sure if it was supposed to be Tara or someone else as it was confusing with having a different girl play Tara for the pilot.

It certainly was filmed as if the girl watching somehow controlled the chain and made it wrap around that guys neck though I thought.

Glad as you may be, how is Sookie going to feel about that if she finds out. That was a HUGE over-reaction. I don't think she wanted him to do that.

Remember, there were 4 bodies pulled out of that house. If the 4th isn't Bill's, whose is it?

I'm wondering now that Tara's mother is "demon free" what role will she play in the house? It'd be funny as hell if she still were an alcoholic.
    Oops

I'm not glad about Sookie letting Bill bite her. If you read my post from last week, I said that I was disappointed by that. I just commented that I know that Bilbo is happy about it.

Well the 4th body, is not Bill. They wouldn't kill him off. That's him reaching out from under the ground grapping at Sookie next week. I say he got her messages, and since he didn't have time to get home, he buried himself under the ground to stay alive. The 4th body could be a human that they picked up, to suck on for the night.

I think Sam is not as "good" as we think he is. He enjoyed killing Sookies uncle. He has already lead Sookie to believe that he doesn't drink human blood anymore. When/If she finds out that the same teeth that were/are in her neck had been in molsting uncles she will flip.

Did you hear the guy in the bar mention there was a "full moon" that night. It happened after the bar fight as they were closing that scence and moving to another. You only hear it being said.

If Sam isn't a werewolf after all of this it will be a "bite" on the stupid side.

You mean Bill not Sam at the start of your post.

I think Bill is good, or as much as he can be good within the contrainst of being a vampire. Incidently I think it's an interesting view on society that pedophiles are still the only human group for which there is no redemption.

I mean Bill is a vampire and feeds on the blood of the living but he's a good guy, Dexter is a serial killer but is still technically a good guy, gays can be good, murderers, drug addicts, gang bosses, basically everyone can be still be good or get some form of redemption but without exception everytime a pedophile is on telly they are always potrayed as evil to the core, without remorse, guilt or regret.

I think it's bad for society as it puts these people beyond help. There is nowhere someone who fancies children can turn to for support, the are just evil to the core, and all deserve to die.

I'm obviously not talking about those who kill and sexually abuse children, I'm talking about people who havn't done anything but feel those urges.

It's just interesting to me because the Dexter episode last week had him killing a guy who took a picture of his girlfriends daughter on the beach. He wasn't a killer and so didn't fit Dexter's 'code' but it didn't matter because he was a pedo. Obviously the audience is meant to rejoice. I expect a similar reaction was anticipated when Bill killed Sookies uncle, obviously he's a pedo so it's the morally right thing for him to be killed by a vampire.

I always think it's a cheap trick to kill pedo's in films, an easy way to justify a killing, he's a pedo so obviously deserves to suffer and fry, so Bill can kill a human and it's ok, as long as he's a pedo.

Very interesting, well-thought out post, Bilbo. I agree with it.

I just thought it was an evil act by Bill to kill a old man in a wheelchair. The first thing that came to mind is "what an asshole."

About your "dream question" where Sookie is being choked. It was Bill's dream so I imagine that it was not him doing the deed. But, if you notice Bill and Sam are both wearing blue shirts in that episode. At least that is how I recall it.

I wouldn't mind having you for a neighboor, Bilbo. "C'mon over and watch TrueBlood tonight."

Here's a thought....everyone figures the dog killed those people. Vampires might be able to shapeshift (we aren't up to snuff on the rules as laid out by the writer of this series just yet) and everyone figures the Dog is Sam, however wasn't the dog in the same scene as Sam in one of the earlier episodes? Also the Vampire that turned Bill into a Vampire, her full story is yet to be told and we don't know if she was killed or if Bill merely left her or left her after a fight or something......so I am thinking the girl who turned Bill into a Vampire is the main villain of this whole deal.

It's a lot to digest lots of twists and turns
