What a stupid suggestion that was.

Why would JC fight Chad Dawson?

For that matter why would he fight Hopkins, RJJ or Pavlik now either?

Absolutely nothing to gain and everything to lose. I think Joe would be very very stupid or very very bored not to retire now. Nothing left for him to do.

1st and foremost I gotta applaud both guys for coming to fight and putting on a good show.

Now as some of you may know I'm not the biggest RJJ fan nore the biggest Joe fan.
But one thing I realized tonight was that in his prime RJJ would have schooled Joe.
And you can't convince me otherwise.

Thanks gents. Mirrored Roys own exploits then, to steal more than just the fight off him.

    Default Calzaghe wins...

So Calzaghe won the fight fair and i'll give him props for that. However this to me atleast, leaves little doubt that Roy would make short work of him in his prime. If this Roy knocked him down and hurt him, I can't begin to imagine what Superman Roy would of done. I still feel Bernard beat Joe, and would beat him again. I have no doubt in my mind that Chad Dawson KOs Joe after seeing B-Hop (past prime, and who is not a puncher) and Roy knock him down. Just had to express my toughts because the whole HBO crew was hugging his nuts a whole lot.

I do agree fully; but for tonight; they are only what 3 years apart in age? so to me thats not an old man fighting a prime lad.

He really has no reason the hang them up...other then to finish with the "0". And that would be understandable. Legacy and all. If he is a warrior, and I suggest he is...then his pride will not allow him to. He still has game.

    * oops, Joe I meant.

That's exactly how I feel. JC is obviously a great fighter (though this fight didn't mean much), but prime Jones was in another league entirely.

I still dont know how I feel about JC.

In the build up to his fights I usually get behind him but once the fight starts and I see the slapping (not to mention that carry on tonight) I find myself routing for him to be KO'd.

Bottom line is he is now Rocky Marciano. Dont care what you say in 50 years time all people will see is the 46-0 record with those two hall of famers at the end. I think he is a great fighter, I have a lot of respect for him and he deserves to be highly regarded.....but I dont feel he is deserving of the praise I am sure he will one day garner.

Honestly you are a total prick, Joe whooped that ass and it it wasnt for a forearm smash would have won every round.

Kinda like Hopkins did against Pavlik. (The Pavlik plod)

I dont think prime Jones Jr would make easy work of Joe at all. You put him down and he gets up, and he keeps you working all the time. That would be a handful for Jones Jr at any time. Not that Im saying Calzaghe would win, but you really cannot tell.

Calzaghe beats Dawson though and no way Hopkins beat Calzaghe. Silly talk.
