No actually it doesn't because when scoring a fight that has nothing to do with it. All that counts are the legit arguments why you think Joe Calzaghe won ?
I thought Robin Reid clearly won the 11th round although it was somewhat close. Glen McCrory had about 3 rounds even if i remember rightly![]()
Yes and im still waiting for the money Joe Calzaghe was supposedly getting ?
Because theres no way Robin Reid would turn a rematch down, unless the money difference was ridiculous and unfair.
Robin Reid isn't the kind of fighter to avoid fights, remember he did go to Germany and fight Sven "Gift Decisions" Ottke.
I would like to watch this fight again anybody got it?

Robin Reid fought all comers i didn't say it was a fact, but i would say theres no way he would turn a rematch down unless the money difference wasn't fair. Joe Calzaghe has been known to be hard to negotiate fights with, look how long it took to get fights with Jeff Lacy, Mikkel Kessler.
When a fighter goes to Germany knowing full well what he is in for, and fights there champ in there backyard. And also fights Jeff Lacy in his backyard, i can honestly say Robin Reid would no way duck any fights, especially a rematch with Joe Calzaghe.
I'd like to see the whole fight again, but I remember thinking at the time it was very close with Joe winning the early rounds and Reid winning the late rounds.
Now, after seeing the last two rounds quite recently I thought Joe clearly won the 12th and had a strong argument in the 11th. Reid was throwing big rights in both these rounds and he lands one flush in the 11th, whether that's enough is up to the observer. Joe partially/fully blocked all the rights in the twelfth while landing shorter more subtle punches inside flush, and judging by the look on their faces I'd have to say Joe's punches were actually more effective.
I also find it rather curious that you seem to rely on compubox numbers to support your claim in this thread yet dismiss them as evidence in the Hopkins-Calzaghe thread.
The rematch would have been big perhaps close to Haye vs Mac £90,000 is not a lot of money they got themselves out of it by offering small money.
Ok first off I am not some Joe Calzaghe Fan Boy
At the time of this fight I lived in Newcastle but was from Manchester I had met Robin Reid a few times an had followed him from the Olympics I wanted Robin to smash the shit out of the Welsh F***er
But he didn't
It was a close fight and while some people I was with thought Robin had it I saw Joe edge it I cant remember exact details of the fight but I remember
it could have gone either way but was not upset by the result
This was far from a robbery Robin was robbed against Sven Ottke but he lost to Joe
Sometimes we dont like the result but unless we want professional boxing scored the same way it is in the amateurs then there is always going to be some controversy unless it is as blatant as the Robin / Sven fight then I am happy to accept the judges ruling
