46-year-old former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield has reportedly filed a protest today with the WBA over his loss to WBA champion Nikolai Valuev on Saturday in Zurich, Switzerland. "I don't know why the judges did that, but it's an injustice," Holyfield told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "We're filing a protest that basically says, 'we want you to overturn this.' I just want what's rightfully mine. I didn't lose. I won." Meanwhile Holyfield's trainer Tommy Brooks has leveled charges of corruption. "I think it was just some home cooking for a promoter's fighter," Brooks told the newspaper. "I think somebody was just greasing somebody's palms." WBA attorney Robert Mack said the WBA Champions Committee will consider the protest and if it is upheld a rematch could be ordered.
