Default Jim Rice FINALLY in the Hall of Fame!!!

AWESOME for Jim Rice, what a player! He's going in with Ricky "Ricky Be Ricky" Henderson. I think Jim Rice has always deserved to be in the Hall, I'm happy he's finally in and soon we'll see #14 hanging next to 9, 8, 1, 6, 4, 27 and 42 out in right field

    Good for Rice.

Freakin Ricky "And now I am the greatest of all time" Henderson. What a self aggrandizing hot dog he was. I can't wait to hear his acceptance speech. The Roy Jones Jr of baseball.

Oh Ricky was HILARIOUS....he talked to himself and about himself in the 3rd person, one of his teammates heard him as he was walking away from the plate after a strikeout "It's ok Ricky, you'll get 'em next time Ricky"

Ricky even saw John Olerud and said "Hey I once had a teammate in Seattle who wore a helmet out in the field".....and Olerud said "Yeah that was me"...hahaha you can't make that shit up man

I think it's time they stopped retiring numbers.. unless the person is arguably the greatest ever... like Gretzky or Jordan. They'll eventually run out of numbers. In stead, they should put the jersey out there with his name on it.

Im glad Rice has finally gotten in,but for owner collusion he would have had that one last year and had automatic numbers.
Now if Blyleven will finally get in,4th all time on strikeouts, best curveball anyone has ever seen,287 wins on some of the worst teams in baseball history......

Hey buddy retiring numbers is good AND you only retire the numbers worn by players who spent the majority of their great career in one place for example TED WILLIAMS and YAZ.

Anywho even the Celtics and Yankees haven't retired ALL the numbers.

Ricky was the man. I think there was one where Ricky was calling some one on the phone. "This is Ricky on behalf of Ricky".

Eventually they'll run out of numbers. Honor the MAN, not the number.

Bert Blyleven was good, but how many all star appearances did he make? 2. How many Cy Youngs did he win? 0. How many MVPs did he win? 0. And how is he better than Jack Morris? At least Morris has appeared in 5 ASGs.

Now I'm not saying leave him out, but I don't think he's a no brainer, either.

Jack Morris, yeah. His 7th game performance in the 1991 world series for the Twins had to be one of the greatest of all time, probably the highlite of his career. Morris starts and pitches into extra innings as the Twins win 1-0. Awesome game. Then Toronto signs him to a big fat contract and he gets two more world series rings in 92 and 93. He was kind of scary for the Jays though. 1992 he goes 21-6 with an over 4 era, and incredible run support. Disaster waiting to happen. He got blown away in the playoffs that year, and didn't do much of anything the following year, spent the 93 playoffs on the bench. Did one more year in the majors with Cleveland and retired.

Rickey is one of my fav ball players of all time. Him and Tony Fernandez. Rickey is one of the best of all time imo.

Henderson was probably the best leadoff hitter ever. You have to give him credit. He sure loved to hot dog it against a catcher who was a little slow off the mark.

Tony Fernandez was awesome when he was with the Jays. Definitely underrated. Amazing defense, and great batting average. He had some nasty injuries though, like breaking his elbow at exhibition stadium, and taking a fastball in the cheek.

I'd take a 1980s Fernandez over almost anyone at shortstop, and that includes Cal Ripken.

Blyleven 287 career wins 3701 Strikeouts Career 3.31 ERA
Morris 254 career wins 2478 Strikeouts Career 3.90
If Blyleven hadnt spent those years with the Twins,we wouldnt even be discussing this

To me Tony Fernandez and Willie McGee are 2 of Baseballs most underrated players. Both were outstanding players
