I honestly dont think they will ever be able to identify 'it'.Nothing definative or known or they would have most assuradly released description and called it earlier.Reading Capetillos testimony...he stated it was a pad removed from a training pad??Then I read one lawyer say he accidentaly re used some second hand wrap from another of his fighters?Hey,I can walk into my bathroom and stare at the wall..."Yep,thats plaster".Might need Oliver stone on this one.

    - The pad/insert is illegal

    - It's wet then it's illegal

Even if the powder is only talcum powder, that pad alone inside the gloves might possibly cause serious injuries to opposing boxers. That's grave offense...

One year ban is not enough as punishment...

I'm not defending margarito or saying he shouldn't be punished, but let's be fair. Whatever was in his wraps was nothing resembling bricks. It had to be extremely thin to be placed in his wraps undetected, even Naazim said the commisioner felt his hands and didn't feel anything. Something like a cast would be way too thick to go undetected.

And for argument's sake, let's say that his wraps were loaded against Cotto, that combination that Tony landed at the end of round 10 was pretty vicious. I don't see how Cotto could have survived that if there was anything resembling a brick in Tony's hands. Frankly, a brick would knock somebody out with one shot.

I doubt that he will fight in Mexico because if he does, that will badly impact his chances of getting his liscence approved. He may well be done for good, as there is no assurance his revocation will be overturned in a year. He has broken my heart, as I always viewed him a great pressure fighter but the shine is gone now. I have moved him aside --and maybe for good. Yes, there is an appeal and yes there is a possible action in the courts, but that would only prolong the misery. At the end of the day, the fighter is in charge of his corner (though I do question the wisdom of that principle) and so he must accept responsability whether intent was present or not. He owns it plain and simple and what he owns is an iinfraction that is the very worse one in boxing. That all said, however, I will make note that it is always easy to kick a man when he is down or to pile on with the mob mentality. That is not what I am doing here. I have no pity or excuses for Antonio or his manager, and I think we the fans are the ones who really were hurt by this. In short, we were betrayed. He was wrong and now he should and will pay the piper. If that means a life ban, so be it. That's the way justice is supposed to work.

Very true... even how sad it is...

I can clearly remember how proud I am in correctly picking Margarito over Cotto and how Margo made Cotto quit... Now it's all gone... tsk tsk tsk ...
