He was dragged off the golf course by Junior's then-promoters Universum, people who make Frank Warren look like a reckless risk-taker when it comes to matchmaking. They'd looked at his record and found two things that promoters protecting their moneymakers look for, a. an impressive number of wins against losses and b. the losses against people they think their guy is better than (or has already beat). But the golfer upset the applecart and exposed their guy as a glass-jawed fraud, and ever since he's fought with the single-most boring unadventurous style of any champion in history, especially when you consider the size of him. The sooner that laboratory creation gets flattened by a real heavyweight the better, maybe people will start watching heavyweight boxing again.
I think Haye could beat Toney for sure at this point in his career. I think Wlad sends Haye back to the cruiserweight division.
Kirkland what do you say about Carl Thompson? Do you think Monte Barrett is a good heavyweight? Do you rate Bonin as well?
Monte Barrett got beat by Wlad and not just beat but BEAT DOWN and at the time people thought pretty highly of Monte being young and 23(14 KO)-1 only being beaten by the 1999 version of Lance Whittaker by SPLIT DECESION. The Monte Barrett that David Haye fought had reached his peak LOOOOOONG ago (2003-2004 fighting Mesi [MD loss], Guinn [ SD win], and Beck [TKO win]) and just recently been KO'd in 2 by CLIFF COUSER.
Tomaz Bonin a polish heavyweight (a very protected variety of fighters) who got sparked out by AUDLEY HARRISON in his first loss....his only other noteable fight was either a UD vs Garing Lane or a UD over Fernley Feliz
