Mayweather not even ranked that high how can Calzaghe be he is a good champion i say in the top 30 not much higher then that maybe he might be in some peoples book but i think in the general view of things he while be put somewhere in the top 30 which is not that bad at all tell you teh truth i dont think he got the fights when they would of counted most.

Calzaghe, Jones, Benn, Eubank, Toney, and Hopkins are to blame for themselves not being considered the hands down all time greatest fighters......they took their damn sweet time to fight meaningful fights.

I rate RJJ higher than all of them but it also disappoints me the most that he didn't fight better guys during his prime.

I feel had Calzaghe faced either a prime Jones or Hopkins he would have lost.

Do love it when the bitter americans come on claiming either chad dawson or glen johnson would of beaten calzaghe.

GLEN JOHNSON - are you fucking serious

The guy would be tailor made for calzaghe to run rings around for 12rounds.

As for chad dawson - Adamek knocked him down and glen johnson beat him - if you seriously think a guy with 20something and 0 and has already come up short has a chance against a ring bully like calzaghe your out of your minds!

America spent years building up the likes of RJJ and hopkins as all time great champions and along comes an unknown from the welsh valleys and blows both of them away - all of a sudden your so called legends fade into comparison compared to jonny foreigner!!

hopkins - pointless already beaten him & hopkins didnt wanna fight he just wanted to moan & cheat in first meeting
    RJJ already beat him sensless
    Glen Johnson oh please
    kelly pavlik ha ha ha
jermain taylor - calzaghe would deal with him easier than any of the above
carl froch - maybe to shut froch mouth up

so no he would never of been beaten, he's got balls, he's aggressive, and he never quits
If people don't know who Chad Dawson is then how do they know how good he is? How is beating Adamek, Tarver, and Harding soundly not proving yourself? Its more than Calzaghe had done up until he fought Hopkins.[/quo

Fair enough Chad is a very good fighter and beating Adamek is good but tarver not such a great acheivment lets face it tarver looks like hes slipping, he hasnt put on a show stopping performance since probly rjj. Calzag has no reason to fight on, chad imo would have no chance at all in dealing with calzaghe's awkwardness, experience and never mind the crazy number of punches he throws (hopkins would have more chance). I do agree in between eubank and lacy calzaghe wasted alot of time fighting bums. (this will effect his all time great status) But dont forget calzaghe staying out of america so long wud hav had alot to do frank warren.
Even though i am a huge calzaghe i hav to be honest and say he wouldnt hav beatn a prime rjj and i think frank warren knew this at the time.

Well plenty of people are hot on David Haye who has already been KO'd by a cruiserweight sooooo can you really blame the people who think that way?

Also when Lennox Lewis was fighting he had to crawl out under the shaddows of Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, and Riddick Bowe to make his own legacy and to accomplish that he sought those guys out to fight them and beat them AND he came to America to do it.

I think a late 90's RJJ and a early 2000's Hopkins would both walk over Joe but Chad Dawson? gimme a break. If Glen Johnson can beat him to the punch and catch him cleanly then Joe will make mince meat of him. Joe will beat him to the punch EVERY time and won't get hit either. I think the only person right now who would have a genuine chance of beating Joe would be a slick defensive fighter.. I think a Mayweather at super middle would tear Joe apart.

You said a hell of a lot in that one sentence there :

Along comes an unknown - Funny isn't it how Calzaghe had 45 or so fights and was STILL an unknown in the boxing world. Why? Because he didn't have the balls to quit being Frank Warren's spoilt baby boy and just accepted the ego rub that Frank was giving him. Mario Veit x 2? Where the fuck was Reid x2 or Hopkins x2? Pussy...

Legends...you're right there mate! He waited for Hopkins or RJJ to be damn near mummified before wanting to step in with the already 'LEGENDS'. Why not fight them prime for prime so we could establish who the true great legends were gonna be back then? Pussy...

Basically...fuck Joe Calzaghe. I rate Benn, Eubank, Hatton and Lewis higher than that turd.

JC, Top 5 champ of all time?...wow... Someone's smoking some serious JC cock with that statement...

He just strikes me as the kind of fighter that is so good he just doesnt have to turn up and fight his A game to beat a guy and apart from perhaps dawson catching him with something special there really was nothing of any threat that would of suggested joe would be in danger of not getting to 50-52 straight wins.

Remember hearing the chant at the hatton-mayweather weigh in aimed at bernard hopkins of "You`ll never beat calzaghe, you`ll never beat calzaghe" and it actually now seems pretty apt to be honest.

top 5 p4p all time greatest champions?? a good possibility
greatest ever british sportsmen?? id probably have him ahead of the likes of moore, charlton, botham etc!
Calzaghe lost twice. To Reid and Hopkins. Both fights at least warranted a rematch. Hatton is going to get jealous the way your sucking Calzaghe's dikk.
ok violent, just to repeat a post smashup mentioned in another post, if hopkins thought he was winning why was he trying to get calzaghe disqualified or get points taken from calzaghe, basically cheating, pls answer this question

That's an easy question to answer.. If you have ever played any sport before in your life, you shouldn't even have to ask this question. Why would Hopkins EVER take his foot off the gas and not try to win the fight any way possible? If you're winning 10-0 in a baseball game, is it wrong to score more runs?

ESPECIALLY in boxing, you NEVER know with the judges. You have to do anything you can do win. You MAY ALMOST had a case if B-Hop wasn't known for his antics. But he always does those types of things. If you remember, Kelly Pavlik almost low blowed BHOP in their fight because he was getting desperate.. BHOPS antics in Joe's fight were not out of desperation, that's simply just Hopkins.

Give me a break, he could not take the pace and he wanted a breather. He has never faked a low blow before.

    Bloody hell!

He beat a washed up Roy Jones Jr and a 43 year old Bernard Hopkins and this makes him a top 5 ATG? I don't think so Tim!
The Kessler win is his best, would have liked to have seen him do it again against the K man but it was not to be. He was obviously good, and he retires undefeated, you can't do any better than that. I would have been more impressed had he beaten any of those guys at their peak, (Kessler excepted) he was a stay at home champion for 95% of his career and only traveled when the odds of winning were stacked in his favour.

Kessler fights Hopkins, who wins? Just answer me that, who would your money be on?
