Default Kevin Anderson v Young Muttley

Anyone catch the fight tonight on Sky Sports? A real decent British fight. Thought Anderson looked in real trouble and pulled something out of nowhere in the 10th to win it. Really good fight though. Shame about the clowns in the crowd causing bother afterwards though.

It was a good fight, especially the first 4 rounds or so. It cooled a little after that but was still exciting enough. I could not beleive how it ended though, Muttley was drubbing the guy and was looking class while doing it, then out of nowhere he gets a second wind, comes back and wins. I didn't like that stoppage too much, he'd been getting hammered for a while but looked like he'd just got his legs back and was throwing a punch when the ref stopped it. It wasn't Chavez/Taylor level ridiculous or anything but I did think the ref could have given Muttley a bit more of a chance, he wasn't out on his feet at that point.

An excellent fght and IMO a good stopage. Look at how Mutley sagged on the ropes after he threw the punch, his hands were down he was in no state to defend himself. He did really well though and you have to feel sorry for him and i'm an Anderson fan. Mutley dominated the fight with his left hook and Anderson really needs to work on his defense. He was lucky tonight, no doubt about it and not as good as I thought he was. That said with some work on his defence he can be a major name at the weight. The positives for me from this fight were his chin, and stamina. Having taken as much as he did and still be able to finish the fight the way he did was impressive.

Jocks would say that he was still swinging, take a look at it again wallace. Muttley won the first 6 and it was a 'money persuaded' stoppage IMO, ref didn't even give him a chance, I know I always say I prefer too early rather than too later, but Muttley was just off balance, yes he was taking clean shots but he was still on his feet and swinging, although he was a bit wobbly, if he'd have taken a knee and an 8 then he'd have still been in, it was muttley's fault as much as the ref's but there was still plenty of fight in him. Well done to Kev though, he really did pull it out of the bag to get up from being nearly knocked cold in the 2nd round. All in all a really good domestic scrap. Muttley is going down to 140, Junior Witter should look out!

What gives you the impression I'm a jock ya sassanach!

I'll watch it again but my lingering memory is of Mutley's right hand being in no position to defend himself and him sagging on the ropes. I agree if he had taken a count then he would have been able to continue but for whatever reason he did not. Does anyone know if mutley himself questioned the stoppage because I've not heard anything from him other than what Gogs posted above and he took the result really well considering.

Was a cracking fight, couldnt believe it when Anderson turned it around from no where. Great domestic match up tho and always makes the occasion spiced when its England-Scotland.
BTW...i was very very impressed by Mutley is the early rounds, great handspeed and a decent punch.

Na mate he was a complete gent and he was definatly in toruble and was probably on his way to getting beat, its hard to say. Either way boxing was the winner, muttley made a great account of himself and probably screwed himself out of a few quid by scaring away even more opposition.
