Woah, could be big news. He's a bit older than you'd like for a guy just starting out but he was probably the best Cuban, better than Gamboa.

its on boxingscene, he's signed with that same nutjob Oner that all the other Cubans have.

    This is exciting.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Rigondeaux is AWESOME, I think his last fight was in 2007. This is HUGE news, news that's been 2 years in the making to be honest it was 2007 when he last fought. I hope he's matched competitively from the very beginning of his career and is fast-tracked to a title.

He should be, its too bad he didn't go pro when he was young, he honestly is the best amateur boxer ever, and will maybe be would have been one of the best pros ever, I am not sure if he will have the time or opposition now to achieve the same things.

At 28-29 years old i dont think it is too late for him to make a big impact on the pro ranks, particularly as he has had a couple of years off. Casamayor started fairly late as well and he had a good career. If anything Rigondeaux is more talented than Joel. Time will tell.

Any idea when his first fight will be?

I really think he could be a world champ by his 11th or 12th fight if handled right & hopefully will be fightin regularly like Gamboa does. Anyone know what division he will be in?? Would love to see him in with either Izzy or Rafa

If he is anything like he was in the amateurs he will destroy either of them. Think Roy Jones athletically, but fights like a Pernell Whitaker with movement.

Rigondeaux is an outstanding talent. Seriously talented. I rather not see him get knocked early in his pro career. Amateur and pro are almost 2 different sports. Marquez I think walks all over him.

Might as well just hand him the titles since nobody else stands a chance.

I think if he has a half decent chin, and some pop he'll do well. They are the hardest things to judge from Amature careers. Reckon he can do as well as your boy Casamayor?

I'm sure he'll do well. I'll be shocked if he didn't. But he ain't no Casamayor. I don't see him having the same success.
