    That's the point.

If Barrera wins everyone laughs at Khan, if Barrera loses he was shot.

    Khan can't win
You're only talking about the opinions of hardcore boxing fans who post on forums though Fenster.

If Khan wins the fight he wins huge in terms of future earning power, probably immediate title shot, massive tv coverage and he will be back to being the golden boy of British boxing again.

The comments of Violent Demise on Saddo's and similar non descripts on Eastside and Dog House won't affect his future in any way shape or form.

Look at Manny, ok on here he's not getting credit, but that hasn't stopped the rest of the world hailing him as the worlds best p4p fighter, and who now has already lined up another huge pay day and mega fight against Ricky Hatton who HBO are covering in a 24/7 show and will generate near record breaking ppv numbers.

Does Manny care one bit that posters on here arn't giving him full credit, my belief is that he does not.

Ultimately as important as we like to think our opinions are the fact is the boxing world hasn't heard of any of us and doesn't give two shits what we think. Even Steve Bunce continues to be even aware of our existence every time he talks about boxing on the internet.
    Correct.

I'm sure he will. Con will get his credit mostly in the UK. It's the UK that foolishly build him up. And it's the UK that watched in horror as he crashed and burn. So obviosly it's the UK that will try and salvage what it can. Even if it means exaggerating. The rest of the world sees what's in front of it and goes by that. And that is Barrera is done as a fighter. It's like this. The Barrera that Con beat on Saturday. If your where to change his name to lets say Jose Martinez. Or Bobby Smith. The win means nothing. But since the name said Barrera the UK decides to over hype it. But in reality all Con did was beat an older, smaller, weaker fighter who was handicapped by a head butt induced cut. Yeah real impressive

I don't think that anybody is going to hype this 'win' no matter where they're from... asuming they know anything about boxing.

Sure people who watched the fight half drunk in a bar/arm chair fight fans who heard that Barrera beat 'the legendary' nas (but don't seem to realise how long EIGHT YEARS is) will... but they would if they were from the UK/America/Germany... where ever... assuming that the winner is from their country and they're ignorant enough there's always going to be sheep.

Did you watch the fight? Better yet did you hear the fight? These UK announcers were going overboard.

"A Mere Con is back" Really? Back to what?

"He's erased the Prescott nightmare" When did he do that?

"He dominated the great Barrera" Means as much as Trevor Berbick dominating Ali

"Con is ready for a title shot" WBU title shot maybe

Well Barrera floored and fought toe to toe with the greatest fighter (JM Marquez in your own words) in the world only two years ago virtually to the day and then went 12 rounds with the Ring's p4p number 1. He's hadn't lost since so it must have been one hell of a rapid slide into a post Parkinson's level Ali

When you been in as many wars as Barrera has been in 2 years is a long time. It's possible Marquez took whatever Barrera had left witth him. Yeah I'm aware Barrera hadn't lost since. But shot or not Barrera doesn't lose to fighters with over 20 losses or fighters with a 1-7 record. Which is what his last opponents had

Khan did what he was supposed to do (and got a little help from the cut fairy)....The win shows Khan is a good fighter.

Now, do I honestly think he will ever be a unified belt holder/top tier fighter? I do not think so......

The real fans over here knows what's what. The media never even mentioned the headbutt they just showed a bloodied Barrera and the usual shitty captions like 'Khan can" and blah blah.

Considering that everybody was seeing Khan on a stretcher, I don't think he lost anything, even considering, which I believe is true, that Barrera has a leaking tank after all these hard fought fights over the years. Khan did beat him fairly in every rounds with his speed, which show that the guy sure has at least a fair bit of talent. I agree though that the fight should have been stopped before the fifth and that it was a kind of cooked manoeuvre to give him a win instead of a no contest. Indeed, he looked good, sharp and strong, that's what they needed to coat a layer of golden over his tarnished image after the Prescott's slaughter. They needed to show that he has skills and could perform against much tougher and meaner opponents than Prescott and that's exactly what they got into the 5 rounds of fight against Barrera, the fight should have been stopped before but the kid performed well and showed what he had to winning every rounds without question.

no. Barrera got cheated. How about that?

Barrera didnt get cheated... It was an accidental headbut...Barerra chose to continue and he lost on the cards.

So are you saying anytime an accidental headbut causes a cut the fight should be ruled a no contest? Or just when your fighter loses?

I'm saying it is not up the fighter to decide.

The ref, the doctor and possibly the corner dropped a bollock.

I would have no problem had the fight been stopped and called a no contest.........Obviously the cut was impairing Barrera and I think it was evident before the 5th that it is unlikely barrera would have been able to finish the fight with the cut...

BUT, the refs and the doctors are the experts and they didnt stop it so I will live with the decision. I think it was fair.

I think Khan showed he is a good fighter because if you can beat a fighter of Barrera's calibur (impaired/over the hill or not) you have to have some skills. But Khan wont be half the fighter Barrera was in his career.....
