    Default Vera & McEwan

I enjoyed the fight. I thought Vera won a few more rounds than he was given credit for, but there is no doubt he lost the fight.

McEwan seemed less robotic than Andy Lee.

The thing is... am I the only won who thought Vera was fighting a bit like Fred Sanford?

For what it's worth I think Lee would destroy McEwan.

Destroy is a very strong word, it's a synonym of pacquiao... Andy Lee was pacquiao'ed by Brian Vera, McEwan defeated Vera so let's wait and see...

I really like Brian Vera. He's one of the toughest men in boxing today.
I just wish he would use his jab more. Like a lot more. And straighten up his punches or least tighten up his hook.

When he lands that right hand he hurt the guy, but damn he looked sloppy.

Amazing how quickly you can go from an undefeated record, to a journeymen in the sport of boxing.

If well known professional sportswriters can use the verb "pacquiao" in their sports article published and read by millions of sports fans, why can't I use the same verb here in this forum??

And it's also true that "Andy Lee was pacquiao'ed by Brian Vera"...

Because you are using it with the sole purpose of winding people up to get a reaction. It is very childish.

Agreed.I said in the FNF thread that I wasn't impressed with McEwan really at all. He's got some skills but he is SLOW and likes to stand up straight and back right out; and he seems the type that will never develop good wind and always look winded. As Superjoint would say Dressing Like a Target. Just a matter of time{real soon} that someone finds a permanent home for some straight right hands on him. I think Lee whoops him; and as far as Vera beating Lee; I think Lee kind of just fell apart and panicked, whereas McEwan just got away with a victory against an even more than usual sluggish Vera. Lee I see maturing, McEwan is pretty much now what he will always be. Won't even hear about this kat in1 years time imo. Might get right below gatekeeper status.

Well I think it's good to use new words, new verbs specially those originating from boxing instead of the usual destroyed, demolished, annihilated... ...

Professional sportswriters used the verb "pacquiao" to describe a basketball game, a football game... Why can't we use "pacquiao" in a boxing match? Coz it's childish... I don't think so... IMO, it sounds innovative to me, something new...

Maybe bro'; but look at Jermaine Taylor, one who seems to gas in every fight no matter how hard he trains. I work with alot of sporting dogs and getting them in condition there are always ones who run hot fast and never seem to be able to develop strong stamina, no matter how well the conditioning program. Now maybe I am opening myself up to some ridicule and Isuppose I shouldn't compare humans and dogs but I'm open to critcism by all means, but don't tell me all fighters/people are capable of being in the same shape, everyones body is different. All I know is McEwan sure seemed to start gassing early; I was surprised he went the distance, and when he steps up he'll get battered, imo.
