for the analysis mr wacko!
you raise some excellent points both in favour and against the possibilities of a hopkins win....im definately moving more in favour of a hopkins win the closer fight time approaches....
sure, b hop got outworked by a younger fighter in JT who was able to work more over the 12 rounds than hopkins could (and i even think hopkins did enough in the 1st fight)....hopkins hasnt slid all that much when consider he is 41 years old...
i think tarver has been chosen for good reason. he is not in his mid 20's and is himself in his latter 30's. tarver cannot work hard over the course of 3 minutes a round for 12 rounds. hopkins is possibly in better condition than tarver is.
i really think tarver will come out trying to get hopkins out of there as early as possible. he thinks he can just throw hopkins around and finish the job ASAP. i dont think so. i expect hopkins to come out and be hard to hit for the early rounds. trying to lull tarver into stalking him, into throwing bombs, sometimes even waking tarver up with his own right. hopkins might even steal a round or 2 as i think tarver will be a little rash and careless.
tarver will NOT KO b hop in 6 as he has suggested. in fact i think the championship rounds are where it will be won or lost for either guy. tarver definately has stamina issues. if hopkins can wear tarver down through sheer elusiveness then hopkins can begin to pour it on some. he might eat a few, and i think he can tolerate that, more so than jones jr for sure. but hopkins will begin to outland tarver in these rounds and i can really see hopkins having tarver in problems. if a gun shy jones jr can hurt tarver down the stretch, expect b hop to apply a little more pressure win more brownie points....
im going with bhop by decision....
