easy homie!! boxrec.con ALWAYS JUMPS THE GUN on this stuff...their "schedule" is more like a wish list!! oscar just said TODAY (6/7) he HASNT MADE UP HIS MIND, but IF he doesnt retire, it will be PBF...
Come on man, this is just build up for the promotion. Picture the headlines, "De La Hoya fends off retirement for showdown with the world's best boxer." De La Hoya is already hyping the promotion up. Damn, I'm fucking excited. Honestly, PBF @ 154 is still 3x faster and quicker than ODLH. There's no way ODLH is outboxing PBF. If the fight goes the distance, PBF wins by UD. If it doesn't then you already know what happened, an ODLH KO. This is gonna be huge event.

Man, the more I think about the styles, defense and quickness of both fighters the harder it is to pick a winner especially at 154. I think de la Hoya has a few advantages reach, height and experience at this weight class.
I think Mayweather's advantages are age, slight speed advantage and the stronger personal motivation (conquering
    his father)
This one is still hard for me to call.

Well I hope boxrec isn't getting everyone's hope up for nothing. I still think this fight is going to happen though.

I don't think PBF will run at all...have you noticed that since he put on weight from 135,140,147, his movement has stopped...he plants his feet now...I have seen floyd move around the ring in while...against judah he was actually coming forward for the last 9 rounds....i think that at 154 he will do the same as Shane which is believe that the extra muscle means

"I can punch harder" which will be shown by his standing in the pocket thinking he will dodge or block delahoya's shots which could be dangerous considering how accurate oscar is....I want PBF to kick his ass, but I think this is too much too soon...he's moving up too fast....

I find it hard to believe that de la Hoya would turn down an opportunity to make this much money.
Plus he can say he fought the reigning number 1 p4p boxer, win or lose he gets paid huge and gets
respect for taking the fight. It would be silly for him not to take it.

Agreed. There is too much money involved for him to turn this fight down. He is a businessman after all. Win, lose, or draw in the ring it will be a huge win monetary wise and for the sport of boxing in general. I just hope they both make weight.

Oooh good point BUT I think PBF has sat down against fighters he know he can stand up to. I think Oscar would be waaaay too big to go to war with, but I'd looove to see it,would make the fight even better! Oscar lands the left hook,Floyd is down,it's over:that's what we wil hear if PBF trades. I am looking forward to this fight so if/when PBF wins,he can come back to 147 and fight Tony.

If DLH aplied the same type of preasure and agressivnes to Floyd like he did to Mayorga then, expect to see pretty boy floored by one of Oscar´s Brilliant left hooks.

I totally agree every boxer that moves up in weight plants there feet more. Guess we will just have to wait and see what happens when this great boxer and this good boxer stand toe to toe

I think people may have Kostya syndrome, You know, When an old great boxer comes back after a long time out and puts on a great performance and suddenly he can beat anyone , Wheather at 154 or lower i still think Floyd's Superior boxing skills wins him this fight, Oscar wont have faced anyone even close to the technical ability's that Floyd possesses while Floyd is used to fighting bigger opponents (ok maybe not as big as Oscar but you get the point), It would be a disgrace though if Floyd's father trains Oscar for this, But never the less i see this ending like the Gatti fight if Oscar's not careful
