this is gonna be a tough fight for Khan, Kotelnik has been walked over by nobody. What's ironic is that some Khan detractors think this is a cynical easy fight for him, which in fact makes THEM overrate him far more than most of his fans.
I'm not what you'd call a fan of him, but I certainly don't dislike him either, as it'd mean more meaningful fights on the dwindling British tv screens I want him to take this one.
Anyone that fancies Kotelnik for the stoppage he is 6/1 with hills yet only 3-4/1 everywhere else. Get on!![]()

Even Barrera hit Khan and turned his legs to jelly and he was so much smaller than Kotelnik.
Khan’s chin is so bad that you don’t even have to hit him hard, you just need to hit him clean. Look at the non-punching Lightweights who have put him on his arse.
Kotelnik may not be a puncher but he is a longtime Light Welter who has a chin, can punch on target, and has loads of stamina. He may only have a 38% KO rating but against Khan maybe thats all he’ll need to stop him in about 5-7 rounds…
I can only see Khan winning inside the distance by way of cuts OR an oversensitive ref.. If Khan puts on a speedy attack, mainly hitting gloves and arms and with the Manchester crowd going nuts, I can imagine the ref stepping in prematurely..
Kotelnick is the only one I can see clearly winning by KO..
...and I hope he does because I am get tired of watching the Warren hype machine trying to give us collective amnesia to the fact that Khan got KO'd so convincingly only two fights ago (and charging us £15 for the privilege!)

Khan will dance about the ring, fire of flashy combos that hit mostly gloves, the crowd will roar at the sheer brilliance of the man.....
He's not in with a punching and unless he gets carless I expect he'll disco dance to a UD or TKO with the ref leaping in to save Kotelnik...Khan to say how brilliant he was etc etc
Im not really sure about this match up, i know Andriy Kotelnik is durable and can go 12 rounds. But he's slow as hell and his punching power is only decentish if thats even a word.
I mean if you wrote this on a piece of paper, about all there best attrbitues Amir Khan should really win this one, by wide 12 round decision. But he's so fragile and even to the body he can be hurt badly.
I think Andriy Kotelnik may have the experience and toughness, to maybe drag Amir Khan into deep waters and maybe stop him late on. In the MAB fight i still see the same flaws in Amir Khan.
Whether or not Andriy Kotelnik can expose them, is another matter. I'll put a bet on for Andriy Kotelnik by late stoppage. But at the moment im debating in my head, am i overrating Andriy Kotelnik or underrating Amir Khan ?
I have no doubt Khan has the ability to box his way to a UD.. but he's far to fragile to ever have confidence in.
If guys like Limond and Gomez can deck him then Kotelnik can, then take into account he's moving up from lightweight, Kotelnik has never been down or thrashed by anyone, fought big punchers like Maidana and Witter.. it's Khan that has it to prove.

I can see Khan expending a lot of energy mainly hitting gloves with 5-6 punch combinations. This could lead to him tiring late on. If you can get good odds on a late Kotelnik stoppage then it's probably worth a punt.
If Khan is to win he has to ignore the atmosphere and be as patient as hell. Kotelnik is going to put it on him at some point so Khan is probably going to have to weather something.
It's an interesting match-up really. I'm struggling for a prediction in it. I reckon Khan on points or premature stoppage but i wouldn't be surprised to see a late win for Kotelnik.

Warren wins because no way should anyone have to pay for this crap fight for an alphabet title.
