What a fucking joke Haye Valuev on ppv

Not a chance im paying for this, apparently i also read that Khan v Kotelnik only sold 30k PPV'S hahahahaha, I hope that is true.

Sky can fuck themselves if they thing Haye v Valuev warrents a £15 payment a fraudulent Champ fighting an untested Heavyweight not a fucking chance.

Haye hasnt even got a fanbase he sold only what 7-10 thousand tickets for the Barrett fight and that was with a buy one get one free offer.

Id be suprised if this broke 50k buys.

Agreed, Khan can at least say he sells out an arena. If they lowered the price a bit (and not 32p as they have) they would do much better. Half the price & they would probably do 3x the amount of sales. Also with streams so much easier to get now, they're far less likely to do the sales.

I admit that I bought the Khan fight because I prefer watching it on TV & there's no other fights comin' up, but with the Haye-Valuev one being in November, I can't see myself doing that with Cotto-Pacquiao a week later.

Apparently Hatton-Pacquiao only did about 400,000, less than a quarter of the Mayweather fight. Sky need to realize with a recession on the only way they'll be doing any business is either putting it on free & relying on more subscribers or doing a much cheaper PPV.

Hopefully the new ESPN channel picks up some boxing for us, because its not a good future with Sky

I spoke to Sky about this PPV and they told me that it was NOT them who chose to put it on PPV but the promoters.

So for the Amir Khan fights - Frank Warren and Amir Khan have decided that they will be PPV.

    Same as Mayweather and Haye.

Not sure I believe them and obviously something is in it for Sky, but it sucks anyway.

No do not believe Sky, they started this ppv in the UK in the first place, they are charging subscribers twice this way.

How the hell is it upto the promoter??

The network negotiates a price with the promoter for the fight/fighter and then its upto the network how they make a profit on the fight they have purchased from the promoter whether it is through advertisment or ppv or more subscribtions.

Warren and co basically sell there fights to the highest bidder.
